BP flat out got beat by that back door curve for the K. He has no valid argument on that pitch. Next half inning very important for Cueto with the top of the order coming to the plate and the first 3 hitters having 4 walks in 6 plate appearances.

You may hope your first baseman gets that errant throw but Cueto throwing it 90 from 45 feet away and 4 feet off target is Cueto's fault.

Bonafascio can fly around the bases

You want the CF to take over and Stubbs is strong on that play....but Sappelt did everything perfectly and the speedy Bonafacio JUST got in.

Down 5-2 Phillips reverts back to his old approach and strikes out ridiculously.

I hate Dusty. Should have brought in Chapman to face Bonifacio to try to get out of the inning down 1.

Dusty is the 3X manager of the year and has carried 3 teams to the postseason.

Dusty is the best. Victory in Jesus.

Votto walks and they said that won't end his hitting streak?

I don't see how. It's an 8 game hitting streak....his appearance gives him credit for a game played....it should end IMO

He didn't get behind the ball as well as he was on the one he didn't get to throw -- maybe he was worried that Sappelt was going to swoop in and grab that one. If he would have made a throw like the first one, the runner would have been out.

Even though Sappelt did the job, I agree with Renteria being used there. I guess guess Dusty didn't want Renteria to stretch something and not be able to play the 7 innings that Dusty is expecting from him tomorrow. Or maybe Dusty didn't want to have to put Frazier or Alonso in LF.

A streak shall not be terminated if all official plate appearances result in a base on balls, hit by pitch, defensive interference or a sacrifice bunt. The streak shall terminate if the player has a sacrifice fly and no hit.

FYI: thursday's game was pushed back to this afternoon at 4:10 due to Hurricane Irene, so it's now a doubleheader for games 2 and 3 today.

I hadn't seen it posted at first, but I just saw it buried in the middle of the thread. Oops.
