“Old Adage”.. Holds true or not

“Leopards Don't Change Their Spots”

I find this to hold some truth. Lazy individual are lazy and lacks motivation, Liar is just that at times (varying degrees) and if you check criminal records you’ll see the same behavior again and again.

What are some other “Old Adages” that you agree or disagree with?

Here is one that doesnt hold true......

The grass is always greener on the other side of the fence.

Dont know if this would be considered an old adage, but I always like these two "Get busy livin, or get busy dyin". I started to use that motto a few years ago.

"Its ok to think about what you wanna do, until its time to start doin what you were meant to do"

Since all adages are old -- no need to use the adjective "old" in front of it.

Just an FYI, since it's one of my pet peeves.

As for the topic: I don't believe most people fundamentally change, either. They may have peaks and valleys, but ultimately they remain who they've always been.

So if you've been in a relationship with someone who has a deep character flaw (say is controlling), don't expect that to ever really change. The best advice in such cases is simple: run away fast and don't look back. :)

I thought it was, "Don't judge a guy by the books he writes."

If ifs and buts were candy and nuts, every day would be Christmas.

Excuses are like assholes on your elbows. They're not needed, and they both stink.
