LOL thought the same thing HampHamp89 wrote: Yeah I'm enjoying listening to him speak. Wow what a difference from listening to smug Weis for 5 years. Kelly's press conferences should always be entertaining.

The Equalizer wrote: I will admit here I was wrong. Just in listening to his passion for the game and his outlook and his direct approach, I think this is a great hire.
I was also quite surprised at the noticeable difference between him and Weis. He should be much more easy to relate to from a players perspective than CW was. One must remember though that before ND Weis never had to call a T/O, and had never physically played the game. BK has played the game as a LB, and coached, successfully at 3 different schools. The differences between these two are now quite apparent, especially after this conference.Hamp89 wrote: Yeah I'm enjoying listening to him speak. Agreed, unfortunately Weis was an experiment that failed miserably. Swarbrick knew it was essential to bring in a guy who has experience and sustained success coaching college football. It appears that ND finally got it right, on paper. Now it's time to win.ghosthunter wrote:The Equalizer wrote: I will admit here I was wrong. Can't wait to see ND break out the "Kelly" green jerseys.

You Domers have gotten just a taste of one of Kelly's strengths. He will inspire the players and fanbase like no other. The man can sell ice to an eskimo. There is a reason why Herbie and the boys at ESPN fell in love with him and have talked him up as the right hire for the past month.

Urban Meyer did it when he moved to Florida and it hasn't hurt him any! The only people who can change this system is the NCAA by making it a rule that you can't be recruited for another job until after your team is done playing and moving back the signing date a month or so. If the BCS and bowl system is so important that we can't have a tourny then it does not help the situation to have coaches move before the season is over. It wasn't right when BK came to Cincy and or any other coach moving before a bowl game.enigmaax wrote:Whatever the case, why would you purposely set yourself back by a month?woody wrote: If ND is the best ever to play football,as a lot of people on here believe then recruiting should not be a problem
Good luck ND you have a very good coach now and have removed all excuses for your lackluster performances.

So it is enough for you to say, "well this one guy did this, so I'm gonna see if I can screw myself and make it work out like he did"?bcubed wrote: Urban Meyer did it when he moved to Florida and it hasn't hurt him any!
Sorry, it is America and people have a right to earn a living and make their own decisions as to employment. Never going to happen and would be a ridiculous assault on constitutional rights if they tried.bcubed wrote:The only people who can change this system is the NCAA by making it a rule that you can't be recruited for another job until after your team is done playing

I'd like to come into this thread and take this opportunity to say that Notre Dame sucks and I hate them
