Foot you know better than this. I have stated many many times that we should not make war without an official declaration by congress. At the least congressional approval for the president to use force. My position has never changed. Now the "other guy" is involving us in military actions without direct congressional approval. Leaving it solely in the hands of the the UN.

Not sure if this post was directed towards me, but if it is, in my original post I was actually being genuine. The article I read had just mentioned Islam being the foundation of the government; it had no mention of Sharia. I wasn't saying I didn't believe what you had read.

Personally, I see Libya having another civil war. To me, it seems there is different factions within the rebellion that united against a common enemy. Now the power struggle will begin now that the enemy is eliminated.

I agree with this. Although it will take a lot of differences to bring them to blows again in the near future. They have experienced a very costly war in terms of human loss. There is a strong faction that wants nothing to do with the Sharia shit. Time will tell.

This. Very different scenarios and very different times. You can't discount what was going on in the world at that time. Given our precarious economic situation, I believe it's time to reconfigure our military structure worldwide and at home, and it's not a time to be flirting with entanglements like Libya just because the UN gets its panties in a wad and wants to flex a little (of someone else's) muscle.
