The winning name suggestion was "Panthers" but there was already another Cleveland Panthers (in the 20's that their owner still had the naming rights to) so Paul Brown reluctantly agreed to the name.

the colors (brown and orange) came from bg because the browns used to hold their training camps in bg and paul brown liked the color scheme

Those are some pretty good numbers he put up at his Pro Day.

Would not be surprised in the least if someone takes a chance on him at QB.

he was something like 17 out of 29 on passes against air. not good numbers for a QB hopeful.

This is for you, Pick6. Pryor will be catching footballs....not throwing them.

I still think 27-35 or whatever you want to call it was much better than what Cam Newton did on his pro day...

No. But just cause you don't like him doesn't mean you can get the numbers wrong. Also you get pissy too easy.

Combine he did, at his pro day like Pryor though he threw just as good as Pryor pretty much. (42 for 53 with a few drops)
http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/draft2011/news/story?id=6194924.

Different when you're at the combine than when your'e with your trainers and people you feel comfortable around. Probably why most big Qb's dont throw at the combine

Heard the scouting report about Pryor read on Mike & Mike this morning...."incredibly athletic with horrendous accuracy."

I hope speedofsand sticks up for Pryor on this one...how dare the talent scouts hold the man down like this!

See. You were kinda harsh in your first posting of the numbers. The assessment I'll agree with (i want the dolphins to get him and put him at WR) but your false numbers helped make your point. All I was asking for is you put the right numbers with your scouting report because people who didn't read what he actually did would get the wrong idea.

I wasn't trying to make up numbers to make him look bad. I misremembered numbers from a tweet. Why don't you accuse people of being homers that said if there weren't 4 drops he would have only missed 4 passes? My point was he again had accuracy issues and missed 12 throws against air. I apologize if the truth is harsh.

There are a few guys who play in the NFL at a different position than they played in college. There's no particular reason to believe that Pryor can switch to receiver and be better than people who have played it all their lives. As a quarterback, he's a freak athlete. As a receiver, he's a slightly better than average athlete with no experience.

If he isn't throwing the ball, he'll need a ticket to get in.

didn't read 1 post that said that.

i'll say again. you're being pissy about this. it's not a huge deal. but i can tell it's getting under your skin.

EDIT: I did just see robj's post where he said 31-35. he's just as misinformed as your original post that i brought up.

again my only beef with your post was that you had pryor going for 59% with no pads or defense, when he actually went for 70%.

Oh, I see. I probably made that up because I'm getting upset.

I'd respectfully disagree. I just think hes flaws at the QB position are too much to overcome and I don't think he could ever run an NFL offense fulltime.....successfully. He doesn't have it mentally.

An athlete like that doesn't come along very often. He's still a project regardless of what position. Put him in the right place and figure out how to get him in the endzone as quick as possible....which I highly doubt is from behind center.
