I personally think Pryor is somewhat of a prima donna, and certainly deserved what he got from tOSU, but kind of agree with this author's take: NFL-- At least make a ruling on this before the day OH the supp. draft. No reason to let him twist in the wind. He may be a colossol NFL bust, but give the kid a chance at least. Another power play by Goodell et al.
Initially was impressed with Goodell when he became commish, but the more he does, the less impressed i am!

As an OSU fan I hope and pray that Pryor is included in the supplemental draft. Can you imagine what might come out of his mouth if he thinks he was screwed over.

I truly believe that OSU put that 5 year ban into affect at the request of the PrIor camp in hope he would be ruled eligible for the supp draft. To be eligible for the supp draft, circumstances have to changed for the player from the original draft that leaves him no option of coming back to play in college.

Since LoanercarGate was covered up well by the dealership (you know they have had years of practice and got it down to a science) nothing really has changed for PrIor in terms of his eligibility so OSU and TP's cronies agreed to the 5 year ban, so in return TP doesnt spill the beans.

OSU is hoping that was good enough to make him eligible for the draft. Thing is will the NFL see that really as just a ploy? It wasnt like new violations came out against PrIor since the draft. Allegations of loanercarGate, but that has been it. PrIor was suspended for 5 games. Nothing new came out, no new violations, nothing really different so why then did they agree to ban him mfor 5 years?

So he would be eligible for the supp draft.....and by doing this favor he keeps his pie hole shut.

In the end, college football is nothing more than a feeder system for the NFL, so why not just let the guy in. He has 3 years under his belt which is the main requirement so it should be a no brainer. The fact the NFL says someone must be ruled ineligible or whatever is basically admitting that the NCAA is a free minor league system for them.

The point is this.....he didnt declare for the draft. Yes, he has finished the requirements to be drafted but as an underclassman he needed to declare for the draft.

He didnt do that.

At the time of the draft, he was suspended 5 games already.

So, by the rule of the NFL, circumstances for underclassmen have to change from the time of the draft to make a player eligible for supp draft.

He IS banned for 5 years from OSU so he cannot go back there so in reality he has on other options so the NFL should allow him to enter the supp draft. The main point of the supp draft is for guys who have gotten in trouble in some fashion and cannot go back to play in college, and the circumstances must change from the time of teh draft till the supp draft so a kid cannot manipulate the system.

I think the NFL is looking at the circumstances behind why OSU gave him the 5 year rip with no other evidence of wrongdoing. Did OSU try to manipulate the NFL by doing this when no other violations have come to light?

ON the face...yeah....he should be eligible because he has no other options, and that HAS changed since the draft, but I think they are looking at if there was any funny business with OSU and PrIor and that 5 year ban.

God forbid the NFL just use common sense. He's no longer a college player, this was decided after the NFL draft ended, this is the reason the supplemental draft exists, let him in. Really, who gives a shit?

The Supplemental Draft has been postponed until further notice. No other information was given from the NFL.

The issue I think is does the NFL feel like they were being manipulated and played by OSU and PrIor.

IF new stuff came out to suspend him more after the draft then yeah, this is a slam dunk issue, no doubt. The root of it is why did they ban him 5 years without no new wrongdoing? Was it dont JUST so he would be eligible? The NFL doesnt want to make getting into the supp draft an easy thing where schools and players just cut deals to let them go.

It's the least the NFL could do. They get the kids developed at no cost to them by the ncaa.

Why dont they transfer his ban?

I had to laugh at the new news last night that he lied to OSU and the NCAA and that he received cash and stuff from an agent, and his agent says that would make him ineligible for college and should be Ok for the supp.

So....it comes down to.....when do you believe a liar?

I think he will be ruled eligible for the supp........but I think the NFL isnt too happy at PrIor's lying.

It took a whole 2 weeks of the new CBA for the players to realize they fucked up by not pushing harder to remove full control from Goodell on stuff of this sort.

It would have made more sense to rule him ineligible.

Maybe the NFL knew all along they would allow him, but wanted him to be twisting in the wind and see what else he would own up to.
Just yesterday his agent admitted that PLiar and his family accepted money and such.

not even that but suspending him from practice for the first 5 weeks. So he can practice for two weeks and then has to go hide for 5 weeks when he can rejoin the team.

I'm curious to see how this pans out....regarding what position he will play. They showed clips of him on ESPN earlier today and he looked to be in amazing shape.

There HAS to be a place for him somewhere on the field....hes a fucking freakish athlete. I just don't think it will be at QB. No way does he have the mental capacity to command an NFL offense.

NFL knows that TP and his agent are dirty, and you cannot count on them for telling the truth. His agent knows he that some shady shit was going on to get TP into the supp draft...so both came to agreement that you see now.

Goodal can do whatever he likes really, and to be honest I have no problem with this. He has been lieing from day one to pretyt much everyone. If he had told the truth earlier to the NCAA and OSU he woulda been banished already and woulda been eligible for the supp draft...no questions asked, but because he really has been lieing all over the place the NFL decided to do what they did.

PLus....it wont matter...it isnt like he would be ready to play anyways.
