Decision been made … Facebook

Few weeks ago I ask the question about Twitter and Facebook.. thank you those that replied. The information provded was very helpful.

Before I go and do this Facebook thing. I have two questions about Facebook:

1. Is there any type of protection from getting your system hacked into?
2. Who on the OC would want to friend Belly on Facebook and why?

This Facebook thing is very scary for Belly. I have very few friends (real friends 2) and choose those who I want to friend carefully that why I have only two friends. The idea at someone who you don’t know wanting to be a friend is not logical in my way of thinking and random behavior of relationship.

That's why I ask the question why?

I got out of Facebook. There's nothing good about it. Only people you don't know being able to watch your every move "Oh, look honey, Rydawg is on Vacation - let's rob his house!"

Next thing you know your wife is being screwed by your best friend. I've seen it a hundred times. (in my room on camera)

Never trust someone who pretends to be a color of a nut that doesn't exist. There are no such thing as red buckeyes. The con is already starting.

You can make the entire thing private to a point where people can't even search for you. There is nothing to worry about when it comes to safety and protection unless you use it like an idiot. If you post you're on vacation and get robbed...it's your own fault for posting you're on vacation and having someone as a friend who would rob you.

I keep everything on my page private, you have to be my friend to view what I post (pictures, statuses, etc.). If I don't know you or want you to know anything about me, I simply don't accept you.

It's a great networking tool both personal and professionally. And since all of my family lives in Illinois (including my parents), it's a good way for us all to stay in touch. Use it for old friends, classmates, family, etc.....you won't regret it.

Good points, but they are coming from you so that cancels them out.

Private to normal Facebook members, yes, but Facebook itself still sees, uses, and sells your personal information regardless of security settings.

Don't do it Belly. They sell your information to religious organizations and before you know it, you have people knocking at your door wanting to preach anti porn and trying to sell you candles that have been blessed by Judah and will burn for eternity. If that isn't bad enough, facebook will also install a remote access program on your computer so they can activate your webcam without your knowledge, then they sell the webcam video to various porn sites.
