Looks like it can only be viewed week by week (football page on OHSAA, theres a schedule link on the left, then a dropdown for the week).

Gives you names but not the numeric ID, looks to be in a format that could be pasted right into excel

Ahh, I had no idea that existed.

I'd just need to get those games all copied into an excel file. If anyone has any downtime and can do that, that'd be sweet.

15 pages per week, 10 weeks. Unless there is an option to show more than 25 games per page it would be 150 copy-pasta's.

Here is a quick, un-styled, no-frills scoreboard. It should be really easy to get this up and running quickly.

I like the scoreboard idea and the blog idea, though it'd be important to keep blogs updated semi-regularly. Is there a way we could do digg-style voting/moderation so that the best blogs rise to the top?

Another option, which had been discussed before, I think, would be to import school data into a database. I'm generally thinking of this along the lines of football, but it wouldn't be too tough to allow users to popup box a school, then query the db and populate a page with name, mascot, stadium location (with google maps link), schedule/results (I believe I have all game scores back to 2000) by year, etc. It wouldn't be too difficult to generate the OHSAA ratings for each region, either, or power ratings/power poll from the OC.

Will you go more into the second option? You personally have the score to all of the games from back 2000 to present? I think the rest of what your saying is something that I sort of had in that brief lived version of the site that had the scoreboard. I wonder if we could come up with a formula to automatically generate an OC power ranking?

As for the blog, yeah, it would definitely have to stay fresh. I'd like to get a stable of 10-15 regular bloggers that focus on a topic to each blog once or twice a week. Also allow anyone else to create a blog entry, too. That would give us a ton of fresh content, hopefully.

FYI I have the master schedule in Excel but had to go to some dumbass family thing. I'll post it later.

As for the database thing ala last year fft referred to, stadium location can be a bitch for anyone who does not play at their HS, as the OHSAA only gives the HS address.

Yeah, I personally have a SQLite DB with scores from every Ohio HS game going back to 2000. I have a number of ELO/Sagarin/Massey-based formulas that automatically generate power rankings, so if the OC wanted to adopt those wholesale, that'd work. See, e.g., this link.

Or we can tweak it so that our Mike Clark's high school always finishes last.

This sounds awesome. Any chance you can send me a sql dump of that database? This runs on mysql, which I believe is the same structure as sqlite.

Tell me what bitch work you need done and I can probably find some free time to do it.

As for blogging, if you need cooking/crafting, general randomness or hilarious mom stories (sorry...I don't think I'll throw in the breast feeding picture) I can probably volunteer even though my blog still only has one post...sigh.

Sent it to your OC email. Too large to post on here (probably due to the fucking links that carried over)
