Does that chick also work at Hooters? (see my quote below).

Local place has 4 dollar movies on tuesdays so saw Red Dawn and it was entertaining. I liked it and probably would watch it again on DVD>

12/19 Zero Dark Thirty opened in some places but not around here so looking forward to that in January, the 11th I think.

I'm usually not a fan either

I think this one looks pretty solid though, I'm not betting against Snyder and Nolan

Saw Jack Reacher (wasn't my choice). Overall,it wasn't bad. Just wish it was anyone other than Tom Cruise.

Reviews have been mixed, hope it is good but it seems Apatow peaked years ago. Paul Rudd is awesome (IMO) so I'm cautiously optimistic about it. That said, "Knocked Up" hasn't stood up to time so to repeat the characters might be pushing it.

Saw This Is 40 last night. It wasn't nearly as funny as I had hoped. It wasn't bad, just a bit of a letdown. Melissa McCarthy had the funniest part IMO.

Watched "Looper" last night. I won't give it a bad review because I'm glad someone is doing something original in Hollywood. Yet this is the third film Rian Johnson made (Brick, Brothers Bloom and this) that completely fell apart in the third act. Rian Johnson has a great imagination and his films are enjoyable to watch, but he has to learn how to execute the story. I was ready to throw my shoe at the tv during the last 20 minutes.

Whoa, I just watched this and came on here to give it a review. I need to watch it again becuase I was a bit confused, and I missed about 7 min towards the beginning of the film. Overall, I liked it though. Thought it was very well done.

IMO the creativity was near genius in dealing with time travel and the first hour and 15 minutes or so was awesome, I agree that there was confusion with certain plot points that seemed to not go anywhere. At the very least it was very frustrating to watch the ending.

I would recommend it, at least it is original.

I've had Looper for a few days. I might start it tonight. I had a friend explain the concept somewhat. He said it was the best flick he's seen all year.

I went to the Hobbit last week. It was meh...too drawn out campy for my taste. I'll see the next ones because I like the story, but I'm done watching 3 hour movies at the theatre.

The concept is excellent..

I'll put a spoiler tag on this in case you don't want to read it, but it's nothing that you probably don't already know (brief summary of the plot):

[SP]You cannot get away with murder in the future, so you have to send the live body back in time to 'Loopers' who receive and kill them and dispose of the body. The Loopers have to get paid, right? So they strap silver to the bodies for them to collect after they've been killed.

How do you "stop" Loopers from being Loopers? You send them themselves to kill. That to a Looper means their contract has been terminated. Gold is strapped to their future selves, for them to live on until their predetermined deaths.

Genius.[/SP]

"I can't afford you."
"I'm not a hooker."
"Then I definitely can't afford you."
"I'm not a prostitute."
"The cheapest girls are usually the most expensive."
"I'M NOT A HOOKER!"
"I got that. A hooker would have understood the joke."

Jack Reacher was entertaining.

Jack Reacher was pretty entertaining...

This is 40 was ok, not as funny as I had hoped.

Django is just amazing.

This is 40 made me laugh, but as a movie it disappointed me.

Django was phenomenal. The acting was fantastic all around.

'This is 40' made me glad that I didn't suffer from migraines. (If you do, don't watch this movie)

People bicker and yell at each other for the entire movie. Over trivial things. Apatow's oldest daughter is a terrible actress and was the most annoying character in the movie

All in all, there are some laughs but when you watch this after 'Django Unchained' you are very aware of the difference in overall quality

I was going to give This is 40 a look tomorrow but I think I will see Django again.
