It will take a yeoman effort from Masterson. Bedard isn't great, but lefties can tie our Tribe up and that means Kearns will be in there. If they sit Pronk I will freaking lose it. He is our best hitter and no matter who starts he has to be in there.

Tigers down 5 to Texas in 7th. Hopefully Rangers can hold on and we can pick up a game on them with a big W tonight.

my question is--will we score more than one run for him??

That's what I'm saying. He is going to have to shut them out.
And don't look now but here come the Tigers roaring (hey ohhh) back on the Rangers.

Bedard is very hittable and sometimes wild, throwing a lot of pitches. The thing is, we have very little help from the right side. Our offense is so LH heavy. I would agree with TBone who said Pronk needs to be in the line up, RH pitcher or not. Hopefully Masterson isn't too keyed up going against his former team. He just needs to pitch the same way he has been and he will be fine.

I was worried about the same thing until I read this:
MASTERSON is 2-0 when starting against BOSTON with an ERA of 1.25 and a WHIP of 0.831. His team's record is 3-0 (+5.0 units) in these starts.
So 3 starts, 3 Tribe wins. This includes a CG shutout in Cleveland last year. Hopefully he can bring that focus.

This. Tonight's game just got a little bigger with Detroit's loss. Need to pull this one out.

Also, good to see Detroit lost. Get a win tonight and things look much better.

Get a win tonight, split with Boston and gain a game on Detroit with a pitching staff that is now lined up to do some damage.
Hope for a waiver wire pick up to boost the offense.

I just heard that no other Indian has ever homered in 4 straight games.....besides Al Rosen! What a great feat for Kipnis. I remember watching Scutaro play at Akron, long ago. He's done a good job in the majors, which surprises me. Good for him. Now go 0-5 and boot some balls for BRF.

if you're going to get thrown out, it might as well be by 25 feet

Haha our 2 runs were such garbage in the 2nd, and then our horrendous 3rd base coach sends LaPorta home when the outfielder had the ball before he was ever at 3rd. And now apparently Santana can't catch very well.

Masterson pitching well, even in spite of Reddick's homer. Should be another close one down the stretch.
