Anyone ever make their own "apple pie" drink? I had some Tennessee apple pie moonshine last night, and it wasn't too bad. I've had the kind made with Everclear too. If it's not that difficult, I may try to make my own with some Everclear. Anyone have any good homemade recipes?

I found this one on allrecipes.com, and it doesn't look too difficult:
1 gallon apple juice
1 gallon apple cider
3 cups white sugar
8 cinnamon sticks
1 (750 milliliter) bottle 190 proof grain alcohol

The recipe you listed is about the same I use. You can add more sugar if you'd like. Biggest thing is just to be sure not to add the alcohol until after everything you've boiled cools down.

My parents make it a lot with moonshine. We've got family a lot of family down in Kentucky, and they give us some whenever we go up/they come down.

I'll get a hold of my mom and see what exactly her recipe is. It's probably similar, but we'll see.

Not sure how they make it, but whenever I go to visit my relatives in Kentucky they always have plenty of Apple Pie moonshine. I have tried other flavors, but the Apple Pie is the best.

Never had it but have had Everclear before. How much of the alcohol can you actually taste when you make the apple pie drink? If you can taste a lot of the booze I wouldn't dig it because Everclear/moonshine isn't my style. I don't think anything that burns going down is worth drinking personally.

Yea, I have a friend who brews up batches all the time with Everclear, they can get it to the point you cant taste the booze, then about 3 glasses later you are peeing in the fireplace. It's good stuff if its done up right.

Another good use of Everclear: 2 Liter of Mountain Dew, pour it out down to the level of the label. Fill it back up with EC and then mix in 2 packs of Kool Aid.

My partner made me "apple pie crust" pie the other day.

Was divine.

A pie filled with the crust from other apple pies is pretty much the greatest thing ever.

Yes, I've had the moonshine variety and it really does taste like apple pie. The kind you buy pre-made isn't that good.

I've heard of that before but it sounds disgusting.

190 can't be legally sold in Ohio. I think 151 proof is the highest allowed.

I checked with my mother.

Her recipe is pretty much the same as everyone else that has posted. The only difference is that she adds in a couple slices of apple into the batch/jar to give it the Hairy Buffalo feel.

Also, she adds a couple teaspoons of nutmeg in the batch.

I prefer to drink something I don't have to add a bunch of flavoring to.
