Because they're the Pro Combat uni's. Only reason they're getting released now is because they're wearing them so early in the season.vball10set;874248 wrote:damn..why is that?

The gloves will get worn all year, and the jerseys are going to be worn in at least one game this year. Last year Nike had a big press conference and debuted all of the pro combat uniforms at the same time. Kind of surprised they aren't doing the same thing this year.

Ohio State and teams who wear them later in the season probably muck that up a little bit. I just hope that they don't hide behind the whole "we're honoring a former team" approach this year. That's what really irks me. Nike never produces anything that even comes close to looking like what they used to wear. They have to put that pretentious Nike-look on everything they do. Just tell us it is a cash grab.
10-15 years from now we'll wonder what on earth the Nike people were smoking when they designed those uniforms. The Pro Combat stuff always reminds me of this phase that baseball went through:

Those Boise and Oregon uniforms are sick. Really love the Boise helmets and gloves.

Maryland has 30 uniform combinations. I say make it 29 and burn the ones they are wearing tonight. I thought Boise State's uniform were nice.

These Maryland uniforms are gross. Looks like something from the movie "Any Given Sunday". I think I see "Steamin'" Willie Beaman throwing up in the huddle.
