If we're to believe all the fundamentalist horseshit we get all the time we may as well place the blame squarely where it belongs. It's right in line with that thinking, that god is all-powerful and created everything. If that's really true, then it's his fault. Hell, given that line of thought we can probably blame everything on him, from the Kennedy assassination to the current economy.

Apples to oranges. All I have to do is open my eyes to all that's around me to have a far easier time believing there's an omnipotent, omnipresent Creator of the universe. I have a much more difficult time buying off on easily manipulated computer models based on fallible and probably inaccurate human chemical testing of rocks and ice chunks.

I haven't seen a single social, fiscal, or religious conservative oppose commonsensical protection of our environment.

It's only when the left uses taxpayer funded scientific studies to "prove" global warming - er - climate change as justification to raise taxes on the eeeevil rich oil, gas, and coal companies to finance their socialist wealth redistribution political agenda that conservatives take offense.

Logical fallacy. 150 years ago no one could prove atoms and sub atomic particles existed. By your poor logic atoms didn't exist until the 20th century when we had the ability to prove they existed.

I showed that your graph looks strikingly similar to the now discredited "hockey stick" graph in which the data was purposely skewed to make it look like there was more of a crisis than there was.

You come back with some asinine theological rant.

I'll tell you what: if God is behind this, at least that explanation makes more SCIENTIFIC sense than a lot of the crap that's come out of the mouths of so-called experts. And at least God won't deliberately lie and skew data just to get the next government grant to study the matter.

When you or anyone else can provide us with enough conclusive data to warrant dismantling an entire economic system, please let me know. Otherwise...

I am absolutely willing to admit that global warming is a possibility and that humans could be contributing. But I don't think the science is there to start taxing people based on their carbon emissions. And the people who are profiting from this and screaming that we have to do something right now, before it's too late (think of the children!) seem like snake oil salesman to me.

Shortly after the quake in Japan earlier this year, I read where the polar axis through the North Pole was thrown off by 6". Don't know if this is common for major quakes or not, but it got my attention.
