If he didn't tell OSU or the NCAA about these and he is making this up to get eligible for the draft, he is even more of a douchebag than I ever imagined.

Exactly. The delay in a ruling from the NFL is probably trying to figure out who knew this and when they knew it. If neither the NCAA or OSU knew about it and he is just now telling the NFL, I doubt he will be eligible for the draft.

Personally I don't see the big deal if Pryor isn't eligible for the supplemental draft. I actually think that if he's serious about playing QB (or even if he's transitioning to WR) in the NFL, a year in the UFL would be beneficial to him not only in terms of preparing him but if he shows some success he can make himself more valuable and get a better contract from an NFL team.

Well, Pryor is just making himself look worse by doing what he is doing now. He obviously LIED somewhere to someone. Did he lie to OSU and the NCAA? Or is he lying now trying to get into the draft? Either way, it won't bode well if he does get into the draft. Another knock on an already flawed character. Stupid move on his part IMO.

It sounded to me like he did meet with the NCAA, but it was regarding receiving money from Sarniak (sp?) and the NCAA already ruled there were no violations (they did, however say the guy had to quit giving Pryor money). I didn't take the nature of OSU's denial as saying nothing ever happened, just that there was nothing to it.

It seems like the key thing in OSU's statement is that Pryor would not have been ineligible for the entire season based on those meetings, which negatively impact Pryor's draft eligibility.

Yep. None of this is new to the NCAA, despite what some media are STILL hoping. ESPN continues to be a bunch of fucking idiots who can't read or understand timelines, apparently.

Here's the Terrelle Pryor situation, as I understand it, after talking to people today ...
Pryor was talking with the NCAA. NCAA asked for bank records, which athletes are required to produce. Pryor produced those bank statements.
NCAA then asked about those bank records. At that point, Pryor shut it down, spoke no more with NCAA, and left Ohio State
ESPN has reported it has copy of bank records Pryor handed over. That sounds right to me.
Ohio State has also said, to ESPN, to me, and others, that Pryor didn't tell NCAA of any other violations. That fits this scenario, too.
According to ESPN, Pryor's current lawyer says Pryor committed other violations. That lawyer didn't call me back.
But I think a point to remember in this is that it happened before Pryor left Ohio State, more than 2 months before NCAA hearing.
NCAA had that information. Would seem NCAA would have had time to start acting on it before Aug. 12, like acted on SI story.
So NCAA told OSU investigation continues., despite Friday hearing. We know that. Not sure that this is why it would continue, though.
As Ohio State reporter, I'm less interested in Pryor's future than what this means for Ohio State's future. Hope TP gets to start his career
But again, my feeling is this is not a panic moment for Ohio State. I don't have all the answers, but hope that helps a bit.

Pryor is eligible for the Supplemental Draft which will be held Monday, but he will be ineligible to practice or play until after the 5th week of the season. NFL said he made decisions that undermined the Supp Draft rules.

Agree and disagree. If he did try to manipulate things to gain entry like it seems he did, he is lucky to be eligible at all. I don't think the NFL can just let that slide without opening up a loophole for future troubled college players to exploit.

100% agree and I have been saying that for quite awhile now.

The thing is...when do you believe a liar? And PrIor has proven that he is a class A liar. If he had just had a pair he woulda declared for the draft when he got suspended for the 5 games and that woulda been the end of it all.

The NFL doesnt want played when it comes to the supp draft, and PrIor and his agent are trying to manipulate the whole situation. In the end...I think he will be ruled eligible, but man oh man, the guy just seems like a complete asswipe. I hope some team like Oakland orcincy orBuffalo gets ahold of him and he just wallows in his own crapulance

What the NFL does not want is this...........

.....Jr players who 'change their mind' for whatever reason after the draft has come and decide to enter the supp They then hire an agent, tell NCAA they committed infractions and would be ruled ineligible if the NCAA or school was told, and use that as an excuse to be eligible for the supp draft.

The Supp draft is meant for guys who just basically screwed up, get suspended for the full season, have no other option and basically are caught red handed.

PrIor was suspended 5 games at the time of the draft. AFTER the fact he is then banned for 5 years. WHy? OSu did him a favor, and vice versa. He keeps his pie hole closed and gets to enter. That doesnt eem to be quite enough so then he starts to sing about accepting money and gifts in hopes that will get him eligible.


The whole thing stinks.....

and I figured he would as the NFL really has no choice.

I think in this situation it is like the cops letting a crook go becuase they just cannot prove his guilt. They would love to keep him in jail but canot.

I think the NFL would love to say to PrIor........'go to hell' in regards of the supp because of his lying and deception, but in the end they just cant

I know the NFL doesn't want guys holding out of the regular draft to manipulate where they go or which teams take them. For example, if it seems likely that Team A is going to pick your position at a certain place in the draft (where you are projected), you could say you're staying in school and let those crappy teams make their picks for your position. Then, when you declare for the supplemental, those teams aren't likely to spend a future pick on you (being the same position they addressed in the regular draft) and that leaves open the possibility you could've worked out something with a team you want rather than giving everyone a fair shot at you.

That isn't what Pryor did.

I see no reason why they'd try to distinguish between academic eligibility - which is okay and one of the main reasons to have the supplemental draft - and other eligibility. They say they don't want players escaping punishment, but if the punishment is coming from failing to hold up your end of the scholarship bargain (sitting out for academics), it isn't a big deal? The supplemental draft is built as a manipulation of draft rules.
