Getting "more work" done in a factory setting isn't typically an option. You're at the mercy of other people and machines.

Last week, I was pulling furnaces, the furnaces are set on timers. No, I can't get any more or any less work done. When the furnace is ready to be pulled, it's pulled. With my normal job, my machine runs in 50 minute cycles, so no, I can't get any more or less done then either.

Plus, working in Heat Treat, in the summertime, we are only allowed on the floor so long before we have to go sit in the A/C. Rough gig, I know.

I rarely do it at work. As long as I'm getting work done, and being a valuable asset to the company, it doesn't seem like they care that much.
