Absolutely would not have been. People disliked what I said in the past because I was critical of Pryor on and off the field. Wish I could dig up some of those threads. And I've never been a big fan of Tressel.

I love Fickell and the make up of the team this year. I won't be nearly as critical, however I do think he is in over his head and won't be given a fair shot.

If he's "in over his head" then he probably doesn't deserve a "fair" shot. And it's way too early to say whether he's in over his head at this point.

You didn't like Tressel's "conservative" play calling, (he chose his moments very judiciously) join the crowd.

Difficult season for anyone other than a brand name coach to be judged on. I expect the team to play with a substantial chip on their collective shoulder. Much of that will be tough to see through and judge how much is attributable to the coach.

It should be explained to those few schools that actually play by the rules set forth by the NCAA, those who still believe in the concept of STUDENT-Athletes. The precedent that the NCAA is setting by not doing much of anything to violating schools, not just OSU, is going to burn them in the long run. With all the money being passed around, it's only an amount of time before the tax-exempt status of NCAA member schools goes by the wayside.

Why is the Pac10 commish worrying about an NCAA investigation involving OSU? Seems to me he should butt out; it's not in his jurisdiction.

Agree with that. I actually think he will do really well given the circumstances but expectations will be too high.

I think it just means that the media made it sound like the OSU case was pretty much over and there wouldn't be further penalty. Obviously, those of us invested in the situation knew better, but I could see where some that weren't hanging on every development would see it that way.

Yup. I wanted someone else to interpret it so I would be the "hater" for passing along information on the topic at hand. Regardless, I still see nothing more than a few schollies being reduced.

Personally, if the tweet is true, I think that is absolute bullshit from a guy in his position to make a tweet like this. A major conference commish making any kind of comment based on a conversation he had with an ongoing investigation is pretty sad IMO. Complete lack of class.

According to multiple sources, the NCAA notified Ohio State by letter last week that it is still investigating other issues involving the football program. The result could be a second notice of allegations and a second trip through the NCAA justice system.

Funny how they fail to mention that OSU has come out and clearly stated the ESPN report is wrong.

If you're a real journalist, someone denying an allegation is considered news and is included in any follow up stories. Then again, ESPN doesn't employ any real journalists.
