He isn't, I've lived with this for 10 years. Some folks just want to make themselves more influential than necessary, or even relevant.

It's nonsense, but interesting in that when others claim discrimination, they're told to quit bitching, but when discrimination (real or (mostly) perceived) shows up on their doorstep, the wailing is deafening.

From then until I was 30 I did everything in my power to become straight except go to someone for help. I was so inhibited that I was terrified at the thought of telling anyone. When I turned 30 I finally came to the realization that being gay was the natural thing for me and I accepted it. I might also add that I became very angry with religion for putting me in this situation. After I accepted my homosexuality and rejected religion, I felt a great deal better. I am now 63 and am no longer sexually active, but I still consider myself to be gay and I most definitely am an atheist. I only regret that I didn't come out when I was 18. I wasted the best part of my youth because of a religion that doesn't want me.

To be fair, most of those studies are actually far from conclusive. If anything, the most accurate, most resolute studies have shown a predisposition to becoming gay, but not an inevitable characteristic, genetically. The study of separated identical twins would be an ideal example, where in only 42% of cases where one is gay, the other is also gay.FairwoodKing;839175 wrote:There is one difference. Correct, but the "person of choice" isn't the issue. Technically, all men have the same right. Some would choose that right either way. Christians who say or do hateful things toward gays are not Christ-like at all. Fairwood, I think you're unfairly directing your anger at Jesus Christ (calling him a fraud), when in fact the hurt you've experienced has been at the hands of sinful human beings.
I don't have time to cite statistics, but PFOX (Parents and Friends of Ex Gays) and Exodus International are two ministries that have influenced thousands of homosexuals to leave the gay lifestyle.
I wouldn't worry about a potential President Bachmann instituting far-reaching policies against gays. It took President Clinton and a majority in both Houses to enact DADT. How she and her husband handle their ministry is far different from how a President goes about accomplishing a political agenda.

I would like to issue an official apology to people on this thread. Im not doing this for attention, Im doing this, because I know the venom of my words. I let emotions get the best of me, and I violated my trust and credibility on here. I also know that I jeopardized my Faith, and those that share my Faith. My words I chose, not wisely I may add, were those of MY opinion, and not the opinion of people of my same Faith.
First- To FWK- I apologize for my lack of reasonable thinking, and debate. I allowed my head to speak, and not my heart. I allowed my emotions to overtake my fingers, and the words that I typed were not pleasant, nor constructive. To call someone out, like I did on the internet, was spineless and childish. For that, Im sorry. My intentions were not to offend, but, my actions led otherwise. I hope you can find room to forgive me, but, I also understand it is something that will happen with time, not an overnight decision.
Second- To those of whom I share a common Faith in- I apologize for my outburst. It was not God like in thinking or action, and I have thought about my choice of words. As someone said, it is people like me, that give the Christian Faith an already bad name, and for that I humbly am apathetic about.
To those in this thread that I may have offended, I truly am sorry. I have learned from this, and will be taking further precautions in the future, to make sure it does not happen again. I cant take back what I said, as it is on here in print, but, can only hope that I can be forgiven.
