Also, just found out Miro Klose is only 33. He could realistically make the 2014 squad and break Ronaldo's scoring record (he is 1 behind).

Derek Rae? Vin Scully? Bill Raftery?Laley23;1159165 wrote:I agree. Dont think it will take him long. I got to interview him once and he spoke at IU once to a group of us. It is unreal how much prep work the guy does. More than any other announcer Ive come across, not named Dan Dakich or Dan Shulman.
Plus, I know from asking him, he really enjoys soccer a lot. So I dont think it will be too bad a transition.
I know you've brought up a few of those guys and how well they prepare for a broadcast. That's always interested me.

They do a great job also. Raftery not as much anymore. I mean, he is awesome as a color guy, but he doesnt do nearly the workload as he used to.SportsAndLady;1159518 wrote:Derek Rae? Vin Scully? Bill Raftery?

Scully I dunno about. But he is the Dodgers guy mostly, and I dont really hear him many places outside that.
Derek Rae is simply awesome. Wont go on air with a name unless he is 100% sure of its pronunciation. He actually practices the difficult ones the day before. Simply incredible dedication since no one would blame him for slightly getting a name wrong in world soccer.
But Gus is working 1 sport one night, and a new sport the next night. So because of that, he doesnt get as much time to talk to coaches and players. He will call the SID at schools and PR guys for pro teams and grill them for hours while traveling. Record the conversation and re-listen to get the facts he really likes and wants to use. Also has been known to use his own time to visit coaches and visiting (versus Knicks) players at their hotel rooms for interviews. He really works hard considering the workload he is on right now.

Jesus what a goal. Crazy part is, it was completely intentional.

lol, my friend was like "he didn't mean to do that." You can't just unintentionally chop the ball like that and it go in with THAT much curve. He said 'fuck it' and went of for it and it paid off. Much like that Crouch goal against City, and the Dempsey go against Juve last year, or the year before?Laley23;1160439 wrote:Jesus what a goal. Crazy part is, it was completely intentional.

Excatly. Not to mention, if he wasnt shooting, WTF WAS he doing??? lol. Trying to kick it into the stand for the hell of it? I mean, there wasnt any other option. No one in the box for a cross, not far enough for a clearance forward. That was a shot.

3 Games to play...lol. Insane. Ronaldo is not far behind. But losing in the CL and not making the finals of the Copa Del Rey, they have only 2 games left this season (I believe thats correct for both teams).Automatik;1160538 wrote:In other news. That's supposedly an advertisement board.
He was knocked unconscious and suffered injuries to his head/neck/back. I always knew those boards were trouble...only a matter of time before something like this happened.
