I highly doubt many people were lifelong fans of any club. You see a lot of Man U, FC Barca, Madrid, etc fans though...Automatik;934532 wrote:Let me guess....lifelong United diehard?
In terms of club soccer, I don't have a hometown team, obviously. So I'm going to obviously go with a marketable team, as I'm able to follow them.
I'm not real sure why people gripe about that. It's not like Steeler fans living in Ohio or anything.

Is this the affect of losing Eto'o? Funny thing is, rumors are now circulating that Inter wants to bring him back. Very bad move to let him go in the first place.Mulva;934502 wrote:Inter with another loss today. Only 4 points through 6 Serie A matches.

Spurs up here in half an hour. A win would be huge as united tied this weekend.

I understand how many people don't like them. Nothing wrong with that.Pick6;934041 wrote:well i hate man u.
Actually, I have been a United fan since 2000 or so. I grew up in a very soccer-poor area. My parents finally got cable (Dish Network really) and it included FSC. I was pumped. I had been playing soccer for years and was really excited I could finally start watching. No one in my area knew anything about who was the best and all of this bandwagon soccer fan stuff. One of the first professional soccer games I saw was Manchester United and Fabian Barthez. He instantly became my favorite player and Manchester United my favorite team -- I was a goalkeeper like Barthez and I shaved my head like him also...it was destinyAutomatik;934532 wrote:Let me guess....lifelong United diehard?
Right or wrong, that's how it started. No one knew any better then, and neither did I. Manchester United was just some other soccer team where I grew up...no one knew how good they were or that they were the top EPL team in the world. Heck, I didn't even know that to begin with. But...GLORY GLORY MAN UNITED!!!

What offline career game mode do you guys play on FIFA? I just picked up FIFA 12 for 360 the other day. First soccer video game that I've ever played and it's pretty good. Just not sure which career mode to play in.

I usually start with the Crew, or Red Bulls (cause they have fun players). Win a title and move to Europe. Either with a 2nd tier team or a low level team. My main goal is to manage Barcelona and win the Champions League. Manager Mode is probably the best because you control everything. But if you have never played, Id suggest playing with a top team right away so you can win some games lol.
It used to be you couldnt get hired by the big squads, but I think you can start with whoever you want each year.

Definitely Manager Mode...I love building teams.
I started with the Crew. Might as well. It's fun to play with the MLS sides. I then go anywhere. I choose who has the highest salary for me AND the highest budget. It took me to Sporting Lokeren in Belgium. I have been with them now for...3 seasons, I believe. This will be my last season with them. I'd like to move on from here. My budget isn't increasing much and it's hard to get good players.
It's fun to scout players. I have two big money players on my squad right now, 65 and 68 ratings, but they could bring me $6.5 million apiece. It's hard to sell them though, they are solid.

So then Manager Mode on FIFA is like Franchise mode on Madden?

Essentially. But in Fifa, since there are so many different leagues, you can make it realistic and start low to work your way up to a top club in Europe. Madden you just start with an NFL team.killer_ewok;939048 wrote:So then Manager Mode on FIFA is like Franchise mode on Madden?

lol I think those both had something to do with me taking 5 years to graduate. At one point, I think in FIFA 07 or so I had close to 600 wins, not games played...WINS. I played a ton and would always come across dudes with well over a 1000. Crack man...straight crack.SportsAndLady;939133 wrote:There's just nothing better than smoking a blunt and playing fifa

I was a Madden fiend back in the day. FIFA converted me, along with about 10 of my friends. I get bored w/ Madden after a game or two.
Nothing beats FIFA, 12 mins a match of pure bliss. NHL is nice though.....but still no FIFA.

The online setup of FIFA 12 is amazing. I love how it mirrors a season, with cup schedules, divisions, etc...Automatik;939316 wrote:Truer words have never been spoken.

I have Madden '12, but it's about to go by the wayside. I plan on trading it in along with Dead Island to pick up BF3. It's amazing how I keep letting myself get burned by Madden.
FIFA '12 is the best sports game I've played, surpassing NBA 2K11...
