Nervous moments this morning.

Still too close for comfort with 0-0 Newcastle-Arsenal and 0-0 Tottenham-Sunderland...got a feeling Arsenal will need a win as Tottenham should be up 1-0 already.

Not to mention what's happening with Chelsea, 3rd place still within reach.

Arsenal goes up 1-0, minutes after it looked like Sunderland got away with a handball in the other match.

Too bad arsenal held on (from an American perspective, Clint in the CL would've been awesome).

Have to wonder if he will ever make it to the CL. Wasnt that his primary reason for signing with Tottenham?

Primary reason for LEAVING. But, Spurs were his best option...Not like Chelsea, Arsenal or ManU/City were after him.

I dont think Spurs resign Bale, but if they do, I think they have the end of year experience to get it done. So Clint would be there when he was 33...probably past his prime.

Arsenal showed some interest, but it faded.

Arsenal initially showed interest. But I thought I read it wasn't very serious and Fullham didn't want to sell to them. They weren't even close to matching the asking price.

Gotcha. Either way... I'm just glad he didn't go to Liverpool

Yeah, if I remember correctly Arsenal wanted to get him really cheap because they knew Fulham was handcuffed and had to sell. But Fulham held off and the Arsenal interest was no longer there.

And agreed on Liverpool. Ick.

He unseated Barca at the top of La Liga during his reign, but Im not sure you can qualify his stint as anything but extremely disappointing (if you are a Real fan, that is).
