Casey still laughs too much!

When i saw that their pitcher gave up 3 HR all season I knew the redlegs were doomed.

Against a guy like Morton, you have to MAKE him throw at least 1 strike(preferably 2). He very rarely throws a pitch that stays in the strike zone. However, being the hackers the Reds are, they would just swing at the first pitch in on the hands, and be done with it.

Yep. If I was breaking down film of Morton I would look to see how many pitches it takes him to throw an actual strike in the zone. I am betting that many times if you go up there with the mentality of taking the first pitch will see the first pitch or two come across as balls. then he has to come to you at 1-0. if it starts 1-0 ya take again. I am betting alot of hitters would start at 2-0.

Some team did that against Chapman, so why cannot the reds have some of their free swingers come up with that approach? If he starts to show a pattern of throwing a first pitch strike then you change your strategy.
