Everyone will disagree with me, but this is a favorable game for Iowa. The Hawkeyes will be healthy by game time which will be key for their offense with Stanzi and Robinson. Their WR's have started to producing including McNutt and DJK.
The Hawkeyes have a pretty good defense that is very physical up front. With the month to game plan, there isn't a doubt in my mind that Iowa will be able to slow Dwyer and Co. If there was a team Iowa could beat in a BCS bowl game it would be a running team like GT. The Yellow Jackets have played some close games this year just like Iowa so they haven't been that dominant. Their best W is against a 9-3 Va Tech team.
Iowa 27
GT 17

I think Iowa struggles just because of how difficult it is to rep GT's offense in practice at game speed... they better be able to make some adjustments to stop the run game or they'll be in a lot of trouble

I don't think the ACC is that great. I pick Iowa in this one also.

I don't see how Iowa can match up with the Ramblin Wreck. The team that has done the best to limit the Georgia Tech offense this year is Miami. Their personnel on the defensive line is not a very good match in terms of what it takes to stop this offense, namely quick athletic defensive tackles and freakish athletes on the ends. Iowa has a very good defense, but you can't replicate the speed of execution or the blocking schemes in a practice environment.

I like the "Blue Collar" style that Iowa employs. I like their chances against Georgia Tech, but they will have to play error free football and that's never easy. I'll pick Iowa in a nail-biter.

I'll catch a few minutes of it. Not expecting much. Definitely the game I was least excited about this BCS bowl season

Although I picked Georgia Tech in my college bowl pick-em, and a win tonight would keep me in first place ... I am still rooting for Iowa. 7-0, great start for the Hawkeyes!

Yeah because it appears that Iowa has just drove down the field on them and scored.

I agree. I hate when people throw in the "speed" argument, but I think in this case it's valid. Georgia Tech's offense is unlike any other offense Iowa has faced. Naturally Iowa probably doesn't have a player on their team who has the speed and skill set of Nesbitt to replicate in practiceccrunner609 wrote:

To outside of the SEC the other conferences have some speed but not at every position as proven in the Ohio State and Wisconsin games. The Big Ten defenses will normally slow down the other so called speed teams.

At this point in the game this is complete fail.3reppom wrote: I don't see how Iowa can match up with the Ramblin Wreck. GT cannot keep up with Iowa and Iowa's defense is smothering them with their speed.

Iowa's defense looks quick. GT could be embarrassed if they don't step it up.

Bummer for Stanzi, was off to a ridiculous start before that pick 6

granted he did have a good quarter, but I wouldn't say Stanzi is perfect. Unless you count his INT for a TD a completion? And yes, I realize Dick Stockton said none of his passes have hit the ground yet.

Any score updates? I'm still at work and can't get any updates.

14-7 Iowa, Hawkeyes driving again to start 2nd quarter. Stanzi was 9/10 in first quarter with 2 TD's and a INT that was returned for Tech's score
