Hannigan smoked that hanger. Nice to see the Reds take advantage of one of the few mistakes Shields has made all month!

Big knock from Ryan right there.
Now Eddy needs to attack these guys and pound the zone.

You would....Eddy looks like he may have learned something watching JC. But as we know, he is just 4 pitches from a mess of trouble.

The ability to throw strikes is the only thing the keeps Eddy from being dominant... His swing and miss % are amond the best in baseball, and his fastball and changeup swing and miss % rank them as 2 of the better pitches in baseball.

Welsh is extra smart today. To snare off that the only way Johnny Damon gets into the HOF is if he buys a ticket. Pretty opinionated for an announcer who had the career of Chris Welsh.
He's age 37 for the remainder of this season at year's end he'll be around 1640 runs, 2725 hits and 515 doubles for the main stats in his arguement. He's in excellent shape and has played consistently since 1996. He's came this far it's hard to imagine him not getting hiself more than ready for 2012......then after age 38 he's looking at roughly 1720 runs, 2870 hits and 540 doubles........he plays one more year at age 39 and he either gets just to 3,000 hits or hangs on somewhere to get it.
I would project him to 3000-3050 career hits, 1775-1825 career runs, 555-565 doubles,....mix in 425 SB, 110 3B, 250 HR.....he's getting in. He may very well just fall off completely and finish off at 2750, 1650 and 520....that would make him kinda Vada Pinson......but 2 more full seasons and I bet his longevity numbers get him in....just like I argued about Craig Biggio for about 3 years 5-7 years ago.....we'll see how that works out eventually.

Damn the Rays broadcast is a bunch of pricks. They keep talking about how Volquez hat is horrible and should not be worn like that. Keep saying it looks like a John Deere hat. SMH

Awkward slide by Hanigan, hope nothing happened.
And that was a terrible bunt.

Great bunt from Stubbs standards... Cause he got it down. Lol.

What was wrong with the bunt? It sounded like Stubbs got it to there 3rd baseman... Sounds like Hannigan got a bad jump or Longo made a good play.
Gotta hate having Janish up in this situation... *hoping he makes me look stupid*

He bunted basically right at Longoria. And it was a hard hit bunt. He didn't soften it at all.

sometimes you get the breaks, and sometimes they break you. Today the reds are getting the breaks. Late game last night, they didn't

The object of the bunter there is to make the 3rd baseman make a play... Sometimes its tough to deaden a ball enough when the defense is selling out on the bunt. Good defenders will make the play almost regardless of where the bunt is... All in all, Stubbs did the job of getting the guy to 3rd and I'd take him on base over Hannigan. I still don't like bunting for Janish... I think the bunt is the right play but I would have hit for poor Paul.

I agree with making the 3rd basemen make a play. But in this case, it was bunted so hard that it was a real, real easy play. His throw to 2nd beat Hanigan by 2 steps.

Terrible probably wasn't the best word to use. He did get it down and as midstate said, that is a win for Stubbs. But it definitely could have been executed better.
