I think what he was saying is what if the WR to that side is lined up correctly? "Your" receiver would be the one on that line judges side.

I mean, the penalty is less than 7 on the LOS. Unless the offense is running with less than 5 OL, than the official is going to be able to say line-up on LOS or youre blocking the TE...queencitybuckeye;912928 wrote:How? I dont think that is illegal formation, unless his being absent means there arent 7 guys on the LOS (but an official cant know that. He can only know if the WR is covering the TE or not....). At some point the players have to do it themselves, but what is wrong with preventive officiating? It happens in EVERY sport. The Texans released RB Steve Slaton today. Somewhat odd timing with their injuries at RB, but I imagine he'll catch on with someone soon.
