Probably wouldn't have mattered on this night but I think Clint should have pinch hit for McKenry with two on in the 7th.
Offense struggling to score runs. That was pretty much the opportunity. I'd say Wood or Diaz would've been a better play.

Good win...much better situational hitting in the 8th.
Note to Travis: Please don't get hurt again. Your hitting is soooooo important to this team
Note to Carlos: Just pretend you are playing the Pirates every time you come to the plate please, and thank you.

Pronk in this lineup changes the whole offense. It's nice to have him back

And Grady may be struggling at the plate, but he is still our best CF. He can still go get em.

Just his being in the lineup allows those in front of him to see better pitches.

If LaPorta is down for ant amount of time, we may see Nick Johnson. Although he has just recently come back from injury.
It's bad timing for Chisenhall to go on the DL. This would have been his chance.

Look, I understand the frustration with the offense, but Brantley did exactly what he needed to do with the bases loaded. Even better, actually, since I doubt they were playing him to go opposite field. From a pure 'how well are we hitting' standpoint, Brantley's lineout was a lot better than a broken bat single.

No he won't. He has shown no signs of getting his bat to life in the past 4 years.

I am looking at the bigger picture. Plenty of people start the season hot, then taper off.

no hafner today. also the pirates are throwing a mediocre lefty out there which means we'll be lucky to get three hits

Guess we agree to disagree. The last two years he's been hurt and before that he won the Silver Slugger award. I still think he's got it he's just gotta get it going.

I would agree with this. If he could just stay off the DL we may see the player he used to be. He didn't go on rehab after his last injury. I think that was a big mistake. He hasn't been the same hitter he was before the injury.
And let's face it, we need him to be that player. He is very important to this line up.

In other Tribe news...
The team has signed some high picks from the recent draft, coming to terms with 3 of the top 6 picks. Jake Sisco (#3) RHP from Merced College (Calif) and Jake Lowery #4 catcher from James Madison have been inked. The Tribe has also signed several lower picks.
Of note to Ohio fans....Ohio State product RHP Drew Rucinski has signed a free agent contract with the Tribe also....and will start the year at Mahoning Valley.

It just pisses me off how he strikes out so much. With the type of talent he has, he should be a .300 hitter imo, not a sub .250. It's frustrating to watch.
