Why hasn't Richards been acting like this, he's more of a whiner.

Yeah, I don't know. He (Richards) came out straight away and started to say the right things. Carter, regardless of whether he's pissed at Philadelphia or pissed at having to come to Columbus, certainly isn't endearing himself to his new situation. He has to be smarter than that ... right?
Also heard from #NHL draft #Lightning and RFA Stamkos are not close to getting a deal done. Teams are eligible to submit offer sheet July 1

It was probably rough on Carter after signing that long contract, thinking you now are going to be with the same team for your entire career, then having that rug pulled out from under you in the blink of an eye. It would definitely take a minute to adjust to the idea.

If Stamkos isn't qualified look for the Maple Leafs, Rangers, and the Flyers to throw offer sheets at him.

I imagine the Bolts will match most reasonable and some unreasonable offers though. The only way they don't is if someone comes in with something crazy, like 10 years, $100 million (Toronto, I'm looking in your direction).

All I know is that Bettman is pushing a four-division format, and if Columbus and Detroit get their way there will be 16 teams in the East and 14 in the West.

Columbus is pushing hard to be in the East and Detroit pretty much gets what they want.
Even if someone signed him to an offer sheet, and Tampa would match.
I have a feeling that Sather(NYR) is fixiated on signing Brad Richards so that throws the Rangers out.

Seth Rorabaugh of the Post Gazette came up with this realignment
Division 1
Boston
New Jersey
N.Y. Rangers
N.Y. Islanders
Toronto
Montreal
Ottawa
Buffalo
Division 2
Pittsburgh
Philadelphia
Washington
Columbus
Carolina
Florida
Tampa Bay
Division 3
Detroit
Chicago
St. Louis
Dallas
Winnipeg
Minnesota
Nashville
Colorado
Division 4
Vancouver
Edmonton
Calgary
Phoenix
San Jose
Los Angeles
Anaheim
As a Pens fan would it would be odd not to be in the same division as the Rangers and Devils, but it's nice to keep Philly and add Washington and Columbus. If you look at a map, it does make sense--especially with all those teams in the northeast.

Here's one potential realignment I saw posted. Would still rather have Cbus and Detroit in the East:
Eastern Conference
Division A
Boston
Buffalo
Detroit
Montreal
Ottawa
Pittsburgh
Toronto
Division B
Carolina
Florida
New Jersey
NY Islanders
NY Rangers
Philadelphia
Tampa Bay
Washington
Western Conference
Division C
Chicago
Columbus
Dallas
Minnesota
Nashville
St. Louis
Winnipeg
Division D
Anaheim
Calgary
Colorado
Edmonton
Los Angeles
Phoenix
San Jose
Vancouver

Please rename then Patrick, Adams, Norris and Smythe.
Unless there's a new development, looks as though Christian Ehrhoff is headed to UFA on July 1. VAN reportedly offered him Bieksa $$$.
It's believed VAN is now asking other NHL teams if they have interest in acquiring Ehrhoff's negotiating rights prior to July 1.
I gotta think Howson is listening. Good puck mover for the PP, probably going to be going for ~$5.5 per season though.

Agreed. Gotta keep Philly in the division. Good to see Columbus in it too...would be easier to see Pen games!
CBJ needs a change....being in the west for them really sucks.
