I was only trying to have some fun. I wanted to see Creek win tonight and show that the program was turning things around for the kids sake, but we will have to see how things are later in the year.

Any updates on the players injured last night?

Like the kind of game you need to win, at home, to prove you are leading the team in the right direction. Creek can't continue to lose these games and expect to be taken seriously. I think they need to clean house And get a coaching staff in there that can get things going. It's not fair to the kids and the school. They really support their team well. They have athletes that beat SHSs athletes in every other sport so I don't necessarily think they just don't have the talent. They don't have the offseason program and the coaching staff. I don't think there's any way to deny that fact.

School board will never get rid of the coach, he is a Mingo boy and they don't like outside people

And you lost to a West Virginia team. You should be ashamed of yourselves. After all, out-of-state competition is inferior. That's the implication, right?

I think you'd be hard pressed to find a loss that has NOTHING to do with the coaching staff. And I'll pretend last nights game was the case. It's the continuous underachieving that leads me to believe a coaching change is on order. A home game to a maybe good probably not great team. That's a game Creek needs to win if it ever wants to take the next step and be a playoff CONTENDER. Because what they're doing now is insanity, repeating the same things again and again expecting a different result.

Do you really want me to answer than? It will open up the can of worms all over again. Just like what you said, we do the same thing over and over expecting a different result and that is exactly where this conversation will head. We are fine at Creek... Although we lost to Linsly, there were quite a few positives that came from the loss and we will be looking forward to building on them every week.

Linsly was not an average "run of the mill" team. They were pretty dang good. We will not see another team on our schedule this year that has the talent Linsly does. Speed, size, athletic, and talent. We had a few mistakes that could have kept this game to with in one score, but mistakes are mistakes. We were also without some of our starters in the 2nd half and we still battled them till the end. There was no quit in Creek and that will make them tough to beat in the B8 schedule. One week at a time, Oak Glen is the focus right now.

Are you predicting a 9-1 season? Oak Glen will light the scoreboard up on Friday and then we will hear about how great they are. I don't think everyone is against Indian Creek on this site, it is just people don't understand how they are completely satisfied with being an average team at best. You have some very talented kids at the school every year and still can't win, something is wrong with the program and it is NOT the kids, so it has to be the coach. You can either blame the coach for ruining the program and refusing to resign or you can blame the school board for putting their own personal gain before the kids needs and not firing him. The school has the talent to be a powerhouse program without a doubt but that would require the family and friends concept to come to a end.

Haha. You make me laugh. If you can't beat Linsly at home you will never win a playoff game in Ohio. If that's what you want so be it. But the thing is that isn't what you want. So, Have fun being sub par. Teams are probably lining up to schedule Creek on homecoming night if you represent the attitude at IC.

I'd say you have big balls to even get on a SHS thread and talk, but there is a difference between having balls and just being the village idiot, a laughing stock who is taken with a grain of salt.

ANY athletic program has its ups & downs. Droughts and harvest. When I was in high school The Red was 2 - 8 then abruptly left The All American Conference. the 1970's was NOT kind to Steubenville. The Red will see droughts in the future and the poor programs of today will eventually prosper. The 6 divisions helped most teams get state titles they couldn't have prior to 1972. Massillon Washington did well in the polls but been absent in the title games. I have seen high school football around the country & to seriously compare West Virginia to Ohio is like comparing Ohio to Florida or California or Texas. Its population.
PBS had a documentary last week showing several public & private schools where high school linemen are averaging 300 lbs and skilled players as D 1 commits having 6 or more on a team each year. Scary how big,strong,fast these kids are today and the future looks even more scary. When one brags how big n bad they are, look around the country.

I think everyone knows that there are ups and downs in school sports but when you have a coach that has been there around 9 years and a record of 38-42 before this year, you have to start thinking about making a change for the kids and the program. SOS has been on sports sites for years telling everyone how things are going to be different and people will be surprised at the end of the year when IC makes the playoffs, I don't know that many schools that would keep a coach with that kind of record with the players that have come through that program. SOS is probably one of the biggest fans of the Creek and I think that is great because he does mean well when he is talking about them, but you would think that he would getting tired of all the losing seasons and want better for them. He keeps buying in to the same crap each year, wait till next year, we will be surprising a lot of teams because we are headed in the right direction. The coach they had before Connors was just as bad and they didn't waste no time getting rid of him. Connors reminds me of a white Obama, he is a good speaker and makes a lot of promises that he can not deliver on but keeps wanting one more chance to show everyone that he is headed in the right direction.

Your post above has not correlation to what you quoted... If we cannot beat Linsly (who is a better team than just about EVERYONE in the B8 this year) at home then we are sub-par?

What does it mean when you get your arse handed to you by a D5 school? Thats unacceptable by Big Red standards and if your happy with sub par performances, I'm sure Ursuline would love to schedule you again next year so you can be THEIR homecoming doormat.

While Ursuline is off playing talent of their level (red lion) Big Red soaks in the sun continuing to buy Maryland and New York teams that win in their out of state conferences and bring those out of state points right to Big Red on a plate. Who wins in this game? The team coming for the paycheck or the team that just wants to sit back and eat the point cow and brags about no one wanting to play them because they are so good? LOL NOW THAT IS A JOKE. The reason no one wants to play you is because you have to look outside the box, find a GAME, not an automatic win.

Honest question... What changes would you make and who would you get for these changes?

I wish I had the one answer that would fix everything at creek, but it more complex than that. I do think it is time for a coaching change and let the new coach hire his own staff, not be required to keep certain people on board because they are friends with the board or are close to retirement, which has been the case in the past. The are some on the board who are only concerned with sports when one of their family members is involved and they can use their authority to try and dictate to a coach. You ask who would I hire for the head coaching job, I really don't have an answer for that because they would need to advertise and see who is interested.
