No no no, I'm picking on her because she is a conservative. Not because she's mentally incompetant. Or at least that's what I'll be told.

She's not a conservative. You can't be fiscally conservative while pounding the drums for a new war when we are bankrupt.

You are picking on her because you are a sexist male chauvinist pig. Oh wait she is a right wing neocon. Carry on.I Wear Pants;995952 wrote:No no no, I'm picking on her because she is a conservative. Not because she's mentally incompetant. Or at least that's what I'll be told.

Michele Bachmann: U.S. Embassy in Iran Would Be Closed Under My Watch
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/11/30/michele-bachmann-us-embassy-iran_n_1121873.html
She sure is sharp though, I'll give you that. We haven't had an embassy in Iran since 1980.

Lol, did Quaker just complain about someone just pasting stuff? The irony is overwhelming.

I'd just like to hear a counter to that video. When all you really have to do is bring Newt's own words to the table, it becomes all the more sad that people will still blindly vote for the guy.I Wear Pants;996725 wrote:Lol, did Quaker just complain about someone just pasting stuff? The counter is "well, he's better than Obama", even though that isn't true at all. He is no different than Obama.O-Trap;996733 wrote:I'd just like to hear a counter to that video. I posted a 31 minute lecture by the man; it speaks for itself. Others posted a 2 minute clip comprised of cut and pasted clips from others in order to create certain impressions about the man taken totally out of context. In other words, it was a complete hit job, .... and a pretty cheap one at that.I Wear Pants;996725 wrote:Lol, did Quaker just complain about someone just pasting stuff? The irony is overwhelming.
The thought that anyone on here would lend credence to such a hit piece, especially in the face of lengthy speeches given by the man himself is rather remarkable. There is simply no comparison between the two videos. I know you guys are not that shallow, so get in the game.

Really he is probably worse than Obama. Newt wants to go to war with every country in the Middle East, where Obama picks his spots for new illegal wars. Newt has even less regard for the Constitution than Obama does, as he wrote the forward for the book "The Third Wave" that says the Constitution that has "served us so well for so long, and that now must, in its turn, die and be replaced." He wants endless government control of every aspect of our lives. He has no regard for our civil liberties, wanting to form a new anti-terrorism group with unprecented ability to spy on the American public. He disgusts me.

How could any of it be taken out of context? He said any politician who profited from Fannie and Freddie should be thrown in jail. I wonder if he is going to slap the cuffs on himself. He is despicable, and people like him are the exact reason for the disaster this country is today.QuakerOats;996772 wrote:I posted a 31 minute lecture by the man; it speaks for itself. The length of the video doesn't matter. I'm sure I could post a 30 minute lecture by Hitler. That doesn't mean what he believes in is good for the country.

I've listened to several of his speeches their entirety. The point made within the video holds.QuakerOats;996772 wrote:I posted a 31 minute lecture by the man; it speaks for itself. He's a phenomenal orator, but he's as big gub'ment as the current president unless you think he's had a divine revelation and is categorically different starting today.
Eh, the Big O makes up for it in other ways. I'll give Newt's a push.Cleveland Buck;996773 wrote:Really he is probably worse than Obama. He was NOT a politician when he contracted with Fannie; he was a private citizen, a businessman doing consulting work, just as any other turnaround consultant or management consultant does.Cleveland Buck;996784 wrote:How could any of it be taken out of context? As for the particular 30 minute speech I posted, I could not find anything therein that I disagreed with. Did you find anything therein that you disagreed with?

Gay marriage is legal in Iowa. Is there a republican candidate running for president whose position advocates using the federal government to make gay marriage illegal in all states?I Wear Pants;997175 wrote:How can Republicans seriously still think their position is correct?

He needs to be proposing a constitutinal amendment then. Oh wait I forgot we don't worry that pesky process anymore. What is his plan then to outlaw gay marriage nationally? The guy you are referring to does not stand a chance of getting nominated anyways. I'd be more worried that a flying pig will crash land into your dorm.I Wear Pants;997430 wrote:Yes.
