I was surprised when I saw this. I still think they try to get something hammered out by 7/15. I've heard there's just one sticking point before the deal is done.

Right. I believe ESPN said that the Bears and Rams need to be in camp by the 25th to be able to be ready fr the HOF game.

                                Apparently the owner gave in on the rookie wage scale today. If everything goes smoothly, COULD be done early next week.

They also set a salary cap & floor. Should be good news for Browns fans because if the numbers I'm seeing are correct, the Browns have a shitload of spending to do just to meet the floor.

I never understood why this was a contention, it makes sense for all involved (except if you are drafted in the top 10 based off of potential) that they pay the vets and make the rookies earn salary like every other sport does.

Yup. Can't wait until this stupid thing is over with. I just read an article that said the Right of First Refusal isn't THAT big of an issue to the owners. Hopefully a deal is struck early next week. Anyone know how far behind the normal schedule they are at this point if at all?
