Time to move on to Philadelphia for the 1st of 4 tonight and Volquez won't start in this series.
Hopefully Gomes gets some days off!

Reds got lucky twice against the cubs and have been terrible against the pirates and indians. They NEED to at least split this series.

Question for everyone.....
...when can you last recall a batter who has been looking as bad, for this long, as jonny gomes? Seriously....he swings at pitches down and away in the dirt and lets FB across the plate go by.

It is embarrassing to watch him hit. It really is.

Has to be damned close for something who is playing alot and he has looked horrid at it. You can hit his average and not alook as bad as he does...wailing at pitche way outta the zone.

At leaste he hasnt struck at as many times as Adam dunn this year. DUnn is hitting .190 in 142 Ab with 20 RBI and 57ks......Gomes is 171 with 19 RBI and 42k's in 129 AB....how horrid must it be to also be watching Dunn put up those numbers??

Pleeeeeeeeeeeease DFA Gomes...I kind of wish it would have been Alonso up, but at least it's a move.

Can't imagine it would be anyone else, unless someone is hitting the DL.

Volquez to Louisville? Fred Lewis DFA?

Dusty did say yesterday that Gomes is a part of the future of this team though...so it probably won't be him :(

Arroyo will probably pitch a gem tonight. The Phillies haven't score more than 3 runs in the past 9 games and have only got 7 hits I believe once in those 9 games. Hopefully Chase coming back sparks the offense.

2010 May 23, Reds 25-19 , 1/2 GB
2011 May 23, Reds 25-22, 2 gb

It is a long season, with ups and downs, hopefully more ups and short downs, not to worry now!

Maloney and Frazier are at the team hotel. Daniel Ray Herrera was claimed off waivers.

It really would be easy to plus LeClure into the rotation. he pitchd longer than VOlquez did and he could be off until Volquez next start. He would need probably a couple days off anyways.

All 3 were at Louisville, Maloney and Herrera numbers not that good. Frazier 11 hr, 33 rbi's but has been at 1b and 3b so where will he be used?

I heard he can play pretty much anywhere...1st, 2nd, 3rd, LF....I think he'll be out in LF and if he can produce right away, get the starts over Gomes, Lewis, and Heisey.

He's been playing left field as well.

Which will make room for Dontrelle Willis on the club

I like DRH because I met him a couple years ago and he's a really cool guy...but I really want D-Will up to see what he can do.

Janish in the 2 hole? Isn't he like 2 of his last 25?

SMH Dusty..how have you not learned from your mistake friday night? Gomes comes up in the most important at bat, hitting .175, and ends the game (in a bad way)....now you're gonna give another slumping player that duty?

Also, Bruce is on fire...lets move him to the 6 spot in the lineup!

Extra Innings yesterday they were talking about how teams combat Hamels changup and that was to use lefties against him so they expected the reds to put as many lefties at bat in th elineup against him.
