Chitfest wont even get started before the cops put an end to it. If this many students know about it I'm sure the cops do as well.

The cops said they would allow it if drunkards didn't get onto the street. They went door-to-door and said they were banning on-street parking just for this event.

I give it about a 90% chance it gets busted anyway.

Don't get me wrong, I had my share of good times at house parties on campus. But there will come a time, depending if you have a good fake ID or whenever you turn 21. You will be like "fuck house parties...lets go to the bar"!

No cops to deal with and no fighting for a cup of shitty keg beer. Muchhhh better!

I said no fighting for a beer. I try to stay away from the packed places.

I was partying up and down High St last weekend though. I felt a bit old, but still had a blast. It was sunny and the sights were fucking BEAUTIFUL! I sure do miss spring/summer at OSU.

We had the same situation back in the 70's and 80's - usually on the first few really nice nights of spring or after a major football or basketball game (the "snowball riot "after the OSU beat Indiana in baketball in 1978
(?) was a doozy). Ain't nuthin changed. :)

Things would be great until about midnight - it seemed the the collective BAC of the crowd reached critical mass about that time. Also - word would get out that campus was hopping and you'd start seeing people in the crowd that "didn't fit" (high school kids, people in their late 20's and 30's, etc.) . Finally, someone would do something stupid like throw a rock through a store window, and the whole situation would go bad in about ten minutes time. After getting caught out in that scene once or twice, you learned to clear out (or hole up in a bar) about 11 or so.

When my lawyer was talking to the prosecutor he looked at what officer arrested me and said "Well, he's known throughout the county as being the last guy you want being involved when there's alcohol." It was just what I wanted to hear. The judge accused me of being some incorrigible punk, went as far as requiring my mother to come (he was probably banging her too, right SVF?) and asked her if I was a good person hahahahah never mind the fact that I'm an Eagle Scout, have a 3.8 GPA in the Knowlton School at OSU, and other than this offense have a perfectly clean record. Some judges laugh when a big deal is made about underages, some don't. Life goes on...
