BP with two wise decisions, especially with how this game was going defensively. Being satisfied getting just the one out on the force, and then taking the easier of the two runners for the 2nd out when the lead runner's run was not the important one.

Nice to win one that you shouldn't. That's how long winning streaks happen.

Now it's time to get some pay back on those Pirates, particularly Charlie freakin' Morton.

I don't think they should say they "won" the game. This one, like none other I have seen in a while was 'lost" by the Cubs! We'll maybe I saw a high school game last week that was lost nearly as badly!

You sure it wasn't a T Ball game?

A win is a win. I don't care how it happens...just glad to get the W!

Let's hope some of this luck continues and the Reds can kick the shit out of those bastard Pirates!

Nice win. Yeah it was ugly, but at the end of the day all that matters is the W. A couple points:

1) From the 1,000,000th time, when is Heisey going to crack the everyday lineup? Dude would have about 20 HR's right now.
2) Aside from the three run bomb he gave up, Edison pitched well. Hopefully what we saw tonight from him is what we see from here on out. I am tired of watching him throw 35 pitches in the 1st.
3) Good to see my fellow Bearcat Tony Campana represent the C tonight.

Heisey is hitting .205 when he starts. Not great. Though still better then Gomes. Plus his D is good.

Volquez was really solid tonight. Yeah, he allowed the homer, but that's a mistake. Every other time of the game he really was in control and kept his pitch count reasonable (96 through 6).

I was at the game, and wow have I never seen anything like that before. We'll take a win any way we can get it!

You were there? No way! I was too. :)

Our tickets were in section 536 but we had friends there in section 118 so ended up sitting a few rows back from the Cubs dugout for the last 3 or 4 innings. It was certainly an ugly game but yeah, I'll take it. The conditions were shitty for both teams, the Reds just did a better job limiting the mistakes.

And if Hernandez makes an average throw on the steal that inning is already over. I was pissed when the HR happened but Volquez really took control after that. Terry_tate and I were discussing the chances of him doing that as the Reds were batting in the 1st, I believe.
