Reds are quietly the 3rd best (probably 2nd overall) team in the National League.
Bailey going in start number 3, his first at GABP, but second against the Cubs. Hopefully he continues to throw how he has been.
Career 2.90 ERA for Big Z at Great American Ballpark, including a 9-2 record.

This will be Bailey's second at GABP and first against the Cubs as he's pitched at home and away against Houston correct? Either way, like you said, hopefully he can keep up the good pitching. I saw in the last 11 games the Reds starters have a 2.00 ERA combined. No surprise they've won 9 of 11 pitching like that.

Need a good start to the series after the sweep of the Cards.
Looking forward to this one.

You're right, Homer faced Houston twice. The Cubs are still struggling massively on offense. However, the Reds get Zambrano and Garza in the 2-game series.

Reds really need to go no less than 3-1 over the next four games. Probably the toughest road stretch of the season coming up this weekend and next week. Should tell us where this team stands!

Damn, that's brutal! 3 games vs Indians, 4 vs Phillies, 3 vs Braves...all on the road...can you say, 5-5? lol

I would take 5-5. Honestly, I'm really not convinced that the Indians are as good as their record would indicate, but you have to expect they will be tough games.SportsAndLady;769512 wrote:Damn, that's brutal! 3 games vs Indians, 4 vs Phillies, 3 vs Braves...all on the road...can you say, 5-5? lol

Are the Reds really going to fear the Indians? I know they are off to a red hot start but they just swept St. Louis. Nothing is a given in this sport but outside of the Phillies series, there isn't any reason Cincinnati can't win any series.

Well for a few reasons.
For one, Dusty has always tried to split time with his catchers; even likes having 3 catchers on the team...soon as the lineups expand, you will see this.
Also, Ramon and Hanigan are good with certain starting pitchers. Ramon is paired with Edinson and Cueto because of the language connection. Hanigan always catches Bronson and I think Homer.
Oh and Hanigan is a very good catcher.

This.
I am fully confident with both guys behind the plate and at the plate.

Yah I was just wondering because I picked up Ramon in my fantasy league with his .349 average. Just was wondering how much he is behind the plate. Thinking about dropping Soto and picking up the other Reds catcher.

Cleveland 24-13 Cincinnati 23-17. Cleveland 15-4 at home Cincinnati 10-9 on the road.

Soto is worthless, I'd drop em for Hanigan. I remember last year seeing a stat that when you put Hanigan and Ramon's numbers together they would be a top 5 catcher. In fantasy, having both of those guys would be great, imo.

I thought about that, but the problem is you have to give up another player to have them. Its a bit of a gamble KNOWING you have a guy who is going to be off in a given day.

He's played there before supposedly. And Pujols told LaRussa he would play there if he thought it would help the team. Or something along those lines.
My guess, his wrist/hand is bothering him from the HBP yesterday and he didn't want him taking every throw at 1st.

^^Yeah I didn't think about that.
I saw something about LaRussa wanting to get Craig's bat in the lineup, so he put him where Berkman usually plays (LF) and moved Berkman to 1st.

I'm looking at the starting line up and it has Pujols batting 3rd playing 1B. Nick Punto batting 8th playing 3B.
That was on Yahoo. ESPN lists him at 3B. OK
