Again....I will say it one more time. They have been legit for MOST of the season. 20-20 is not, you are right. But they haven't played like an average team (20-20) for the most part. My point was the Indians wins are better than some believe them to be. This team isn't going away.SportsAndLady;771157 wrote:They are not legit, they are simply average. You just think they're legit because normally the Royals are fucking dreadful, so when they're actually doing "okay" it just seems like they're a lot better than what they really are.

They haven't played like an average team? They're one of the more inconsistent teams in baseball. They, at one point, won 6 of 7, lost 9 of 11, then won 4 in a row in chronological order. They've looked great, then they look like the typical Royals.
I'll give you average, inconsistent, good at times.....but legit, no.

When you do realize when you say MOST of the season are you talking about MOST of less than 1/4 of the season?
You can pump your chest all ya want about beating up on a royals team that is .500 and will be dreadful by the end of the season.

You could very well be talking about the Reds season thus far. The entire month of April the Reds were very average. As a matter of fact, the Reds have been an average team until 10 days ago.

Right, but this is the same Reds team that won 90+ games last year...everyone knows they'll be good this year. The Royals haven't had a winning record in how long?

Reds started above average.
Went below average.
Now are above average again.
That is how it works in MLB. Ya just gotta hope the above average times heavily outweigh the below average times.

I guess we can debate this all day and night. However, the Reds over the last year in a half have been the 4th best team in baseball behind Philadelphia, Tampa and New York. However, I love that fact that we could have the BEST match-up, record wise, this weekend in Cleveland. A weekend featuring Mets/Yankees, Phillies/Rangers, Angels/Braves and Giants/Athletics all may take a back seat to Reds/Indians and Rays/Marlins. Funny, I don't see FOX National or ESPN Sunday Night slated to be in either spot...

I don't know why you posted that. Like I said, the two best match-ups this weekend, based on records, are Indians/Reds and Marlins/Rays. Your link just backed up my statement...I don't see either of those series' represented on national television.

Don't forget that the Reds were average without Rolen, Bailey, Lewis, and Cueto.september63;771202 wrote:You could very well be talking about the Reds season thus far. The entire month of April the Reds were very average. As a matter of fact, the Reds have been an average team until 10 days ago.

Cueto and Bailey coming back was huge. that was 40% of your rotation, and two pitchers with great stuff and on the upside of their careers. Both can be very good pitchers for quite a long time and are very young.
