EV a little shaky in the first on control, especially the fastball, but he gets thru it with no runs and 20 pitches. finally got a strike on Bourn on the 4th fastball he threw. Then a four pitch walk to Towles, all on fastballs. Then he finally gets a fastball strike(2-2 foul) on Pence, after his two balls come on fastballs.

In the 2nd inning, he's walked three and the only two outs were a great play on a line drive by BP and the pitcher popping up on the first pitch!

He pitched well in the 1st, and at that time I thought it was the 2nd inning by mistake. So I thought he was through 2 with that pitch count. Obviously, I was wrong.

I'm saying I didn't think he was sharp in the first either. The non-sharpness finally caught up with him in the 2nd and 3rd, with all three runners who scored reaching base on walks. The thing that helped him in the first was going to more off-speed stuff which it looked like he controlled better.

BP hits a shot, for an out, but the run scores - productive out.

EV as down 3-0 to the first guy then a 4 pitch walk IIRC. Can't ask for much worse.

Sounds like the Reds are starting to square up Wandy a bit.

1 base runner, never a BR past 1st base, what's not to like about that first inning? lol

U call Bruce out on that 3rd strike, but don't give EV the call on the 2-2 pitch? Wow that was definitely on the corner.

Wandy resembles a pig a little. Square head with a fat nose.

Well, from 5IP, 100 pitches to 4IP, 90 pitches.

Progression, Edinson...not regression.

Can't wait to get Rolen back and get Renteria out of the 2-hole. Joey leading off innings way too often lately.

I liked Bruce in the 2 hole..i know he's not your stereotypical 2 hole hitter, but he hit well there.
