2) The trades are starting to pan out (LaPorta, Brantley, Masterson, Carrasco etc). Its not the owners shelling out the money that is putting the product on the field.

The Dolans play no part in the trades outside of stating they weren't going to pay out for CC, Lee etc.

Although the start has been great, I am still salty with the ownership with their visible lack of effort in wanting to put up the money. We got lucky that guys like Orlando Cabrera, who just needed a job, is playing solid baseball.

Until I see consistent effort by the ownership to spend money to pair up with the young guys, I am uneasy in spending money to buy season tickets. The way they handle their business it will only be a couple years before this young talent is groomed and shipped off to the big clubs.

A caller called in to WKNR and made a valid point. Now I'll be the first to admit my disdain for the Dolan's but the Jacobs ownership may actually have been cheaper.

Jacobs gave John Hart a budget and said "don't go over it plus I want a 5-7% return on my investment." Jacobs was LUCKY that Hart was saavy and signed a bunch of young talent (Nagy, Belle, Ramirez, Alomar, Baerga, etc) to long term deals while they were young and dumb. You won't see what happened 20 years ago (my God has it been TWENTY years?) happening in today's market.

Dolan actually broke budget his first year or two (signed Juan Gonzalez to a fat contract). He then went into "retract mode" with his spending but he DID go over budget. Jacobs NEVER did this when they needed that frontline "ace" pitcher to get them over the hump. It was John Hart's genius that made the Jacobs' "great" owners.

I think a lot of the reason fans aren't flooding to the park is because they are still pissed/don't trust Dolan after they traded back-to-back Cy Young award winners and a catcher (V-Mart) who probably would've re-signed with them anyway.

Only 1 player I know took a far less deal than he probably could get. Longoria took 6 years for $17.5 million with team options for the last three that'd push it to $44 million. That's not a small sum but after those 6 years without free agency if he keeps up he could have gotten an $80-100 million contract IMO. Rays signed him to that the first or second week he was a pro so definitely a John Hart move.

Joe Haden at the game. Says he plans on wearing a full uniform to the game on Friday. Awesome show of support by him for all Cleveland teams. Nice to see.

Isn't he pretty visual at Cavs games as well?

I know Fab4 follows him on Twitter and said that he really loves the city.

Ye he wore a full Anderson Vaerjao jersey to one Cavs game. Socks, shoes, wig and all. Indians get 2 runs that inning, one on a past ball. Grady slid in hard to second so hopefully he is ok. Choo strikes out with runners on 2nd and 3rd to end the inning. I hate seeing K's to end the inning.
