Haha that guy sounds like a choad. I've probably been to more Rays games then he has and I've only been to 2.

Would rather watch the Tribe than watch "The Quitter." After all, it is "Quitness Day". The day Lequitter quit in the Boston series last year.

That is right, royalk! I saw that post and said "pfft", any of us watching that bs was only doing it to see fail....which I wasn't watching and deferred to just read about it later.
Anyhow, we just had a major t-storm with lots of rain pass through Wayne County (for those not familiar, that is 2 counties below Cuyahoga) and now the sun is out so I hope this game gets on.
Go Tribe!

Tampa Bay @ Cleveland. Cleveland (14,275) and TB (16,311) are the two lowest drawing home crowd teams in MLB.
These crowds are embarrassing for Indians fans. Weather isnt an excuse anymore.

Just wait until summer. This team still hasn't won over the entire fan base and school is still in session. We went to 10x more games during the summer than during the first two months of the season. Its easier for families to attend games in June and on rather than right now.

The Indians are dead last in home attendance. Last time I checked school is in session throughout the country. I'm an Indians fan, Im just sayin these are just embarrasing numbers.
www.espn.go.com/mlb/attendance
Minnesota stinks and it is colder there in the Spring. Kids are still in school there too. They average 38,806.

I am sure they sold way more season tickets before this season started too.

Ues this is more than annoying. People need to wake up and support this team. Too many well to do tribe fans sit on their fanny packs and watch the games on the 3D flat screen. Get off your asses and go. Management has put a good product out there and they should be rewarded for doing so. The Dolans will move this franchise if they win the division and draw less than 2 mil.september63;764353 wrote:The Indians are dead last in home attendance. 1) No they won't. It takes money to move franchises and they obviously do not like to spend it.
2) The trades are starting to pan out (LaPorta, Brantley, Masterson, Carrasco etc). Its not the owners shelling out the money that is putting the product on the field.
The Dolans play no part in the trades outside of stating they weren't going to pay out for CC, Lee etc.
Although the start has been great, I am still salty with the ownership with their visible lack of effort in wanting to put up the money. We got lucky that guys like Orlando Cabrera, who just needed a job, is playing solid baseball.
Until I see consistent effort by the ownership to spend money to pair up with the young guys, I am uneasy in spending money to buy season tickets. The way they handle their business it will only be a couple years before this young talent is groomed and shipped off to the big clubs.

Well...tampa is one of the hottest teams right now. I think I heard on the radio that they have won 8 in a row on the road. Indians have won 12 in a row at home...should be a good series.

They finished 21st in attendance in 2007 and 24th in 2005. Things didn't heat up in the summer those years, it took until late August for fans to start showing up, and even then they weren't selling out (until the playoffs in 2007). The Indians haven't finished in the top 20 in MLB attendance since 2002, and were dead last last season. Let's not give the fans credit they've done nothing to deserve and expect that they'll suddenly start coming out in droves.
Fact of the matter is Cleveland really isn't big enough to legitimately support 3 major sports teams, and the Indians have obviously fallen into 3rd place since 2003. That said, August and September could be big attendance wise if the NFL is still locked out and the Tribe is still in it.
The attendance won't continue to be nearly this bad regardless though. Expectations were shit, and playing Baltimore, Kansas City (and now Tampa and Seattle) aren't going to be huge draws to begin with.

Cleveland has had its best start in a LONG time, better than both the 2005 and 2007 years. With the Cavaliers being out of the picture now, if the Indians continue this pace the attendance WILL be much better in June and July this season compared to the 05/07 years.
Just my opinion.

It's 8:40 and no game yet. This is going to be like a west coast trip now, dang it!
Oh wait, we are now under way at the corner of Carnegie and Ontario with a howling wind coming in from right!
Too bad about Milton Bradley, btw. Hahaha!

yeah, talk about a complete waste of talent and a POS....bradley is it. 8 teams in 12 years tells you all you need to know about him.BRF;764438 wrote:It's 8:40 and no game yet. This is going to be like a west coast trip now, dang it!

Also, he is the one player that you can tell that Tom Hamilton actually hates. Hamilton spews nothing but negative things about him...I bet he is happy with what happened in Seattle.
