That being said, I think that Small's comments, much like Pryor's comments about Mike Vick, were probably the result of his inability to accurately convey what he truly meant. Now this doesn't excuse him for what he did at Ohio State and what he said in his interview with the Lantern, but I think his poor speaking skills probably enabled his words appear much more damaging than he truly meant.
