Trump showed great courage by going into this den of lions. He took some serious shots, and he knew he would.I don't think Trump is a serious candidate. My hope is that he keeps attacking Barry and then gracefully bows out.

Seth Myers got one thing right. The 2008 Obama would defeat the 2012 Obama because the Hope and Change that was promised has not been delivered. In fact it is more like Despair and No Change.

Seth Myers had some good lines, but I thought he got a little ridiculous with the attacks on Repubs. His shots on Trump, IMO, went beyond decent comedy and even well beyond "roast" level, some were personal attacks. You could say Trump had it coming, but I feel like Seth let his political views turn some of his comments from comedy to hateful. I guess my point is Seth went well beyond a little good-natured ribbing.

As for Trump, he did laugh at a few of Obama's comments. Didn't see him crack a smile even when Seth was being funny (and in spite of what talking heads said, even a good sense of humor doesn't make personal attacks any easier to swallow). What was interesting to me - especially when Seth called Trump running a joke - is The Donald's reaction (or lack thereof) indicated to me he might be a little more serious about this than we think.

Trump also mentioned it on the Apprentice, asking them if they would vote for him. That's to be expected from a guy milking the publicity just to get his name out there, but my perception changed a bit last night watching him react to Seth.

Trump is obviously a terrible choice, but I wouldn't be opposed to some who's run a F500 business and understands the concepts of budget having a bit more fortitude to tame the deficit.

Neither would I. Like him or not no one can deny that Trump has far more practical executive experience than Kenyan Barry.

Trump will fade away and the real Republican candidate will rise to be ridiculed, disparaged, and personally attacked by the BHO Administration, Hollyweird, the DNC, and their butt buddies in the leftist media. Meantime I hope Trump continues to dig the spurs into the Anointed One's sides.

I, too, hope that Trump continues his carnival barker routine. It just puts that much more attention on the sideshow that has become the Republican Party these days. The thought of all of these yahoos on one stage together in a debate really gets me going. For those of you who like to see a good train wreck, tune in to that one.

He seems to get under Barry's skin.

I can't disagree with this comment but if you've deluded yourself into believing the Dems aren't running an extremist freak show themselves you need only watch the Pelosi, Biden, Obama, Schumer, Frank, Waters, Michael Moore, etc. clown act to understand the meaning.

I've been watching one in the White House since 2000, up to and including the latest administration.

stlouiedipalma thrives on the negative aura that is partisan politics.

I have to laugh at the continuing thought that somehow the Republican Party has somehow endorsed or embraced Donald Trump or anything he's said. I know of no one in Republican leadership who's brought up the birther issue even once.

Now if you want to call people like Ryan, Boehner, McConnell, and others who are trying to tackle our debt problem like adults a "sideshow", then you've got a long way to go to convince me that that's an accurate label.

Wreaks a bit of desperation, doesn't it? The Obama faithful are nervous (as they should be) and are trying to imagine Trump as some sort of indicator of the Repub party falling apart.

Personally, I couldn't care less. I can't really vote for most Repubs (or Dems) on the basis of fiscal responsbility. Economic policy is a bit more sound, but that's been completely dominated by fiscal irresponsibility. All I know is I have no hope of fiscal responsibility from the blue box in 2012.

How boring would it be if we agreed on everything all of the time?

Which makes him just one of many people on this board on both sides of the equation.
