Which is stupid. If my team won the title the last thing I would care about is the conference. I'd be chanting the name of my team. The conference didn't win the title.
Yeah, I agree. I'm all for rooting for a conference to do well, but I think some of the SEC stuff goes a little far.

It was so nice to see Saban get hit with the jug of gatorade. I hate Saban he never even smiled.

Saban and the Alabama Staff should be ashamed of what they did by scoring that last Touchdown.

Texas was done. Only 47 seconds left and down 10.

No need to score again. Easy call there and he blew it.

That's not running it up. You're on the 3 and Texas still has ONE timeout (nice job there september63). Punch it in, erase all uncertainty, and let them run it out.
Really??? Seems you are THE only one that was thinking this way!!

No doubt, Bama didn't need that TD.

Insanity by consensus doesn't make it right.

Actually it's the exact opposite. Should you learn to read one day, you'd see that you and maybe 2 other people feel that it was running up the score.

The ignorance on this forum is ridiculous.

I still can't believe McCoy actually sat out. After watching Pat White for 4 years, there is no way he would have came out of that game.

The numb arm doesn't sound too good. Might be more damage than everyone thought.

Hope it doesn't affect him long-term.

"I don't really have any pain in my arm. I just can't feel my arm." Damn.

it was only 2nd down when they scored the touchdown

2nd down kneel down - timeout

3rd down kneel down - clock runs out

not even a question you pack it in there

Cunt McCoy should have been in the game.

There are agents listening to Colt McCoy talk about his shoulder pain and screaming,"Shut the fuck up!" at their televisions.

Um, Pat White came out of both games WVU lost the year they had a shot at the title game before losing to Pitt. What was the Pitt game injury - hurt thumb on his non-throwing hand?

With 0:45 left, if some stupid shit happens it is completely feasable (though unlikely) for that gap to be closed. Freak fumble returned, then an onside leading to a FG (using the timeout to help) and we're in OT.

You don't pack it in on a 10 point lead if they have any timeouts.

Yep, he would have looked a ton better running around out there with an arm flopping around and fumbling all the snaps.

I remember Pat White playing Pitt to play for a national championship and he didn't go back in the game until late in the game with a sore thumb, so I don't really buy that statement about Pat White. Not trying to be contradictory, just sayin'. :)

Bama could have easily fumbled the ball on a hand off exchange. That scenario can happen either way. No need for them to score in that situation.

They're not going to fumble the kneel down play.

Texas probably wouldn't have even called a timeout. They knew the situation and were ready to shake hands.

That was easily a situation you don't score again. Class 101.

Go sleep on your arm for the whole night then report to me how much you can do with it when you get up in the morning

This game will be "what iffed" for the ages. What if McCoy didn't get hurt? What if the Texas receiver didn't drop the TD in the 2nd quarter that would have made it 17-13? What if Texas took a knee at the end of the half? I happen to think that, of the three, the dropped TD pass hurt Texas' chances the most. If they take a knee, Bama wouldn't have gotten so complacent and conservative in the 2nd half, sowing the seeds of a Texas comeback, and Bama would have soundly beat Texas. If Colt had not gotten injured, I think Bama would have played closer to their optimum thru the whole game with that challenge to them, and Bama would have handled Bama. Now if Texas got that TD pass in the 2nd qtr, it would have cut the lead and given them great momentum, and given the freshman QB a lot of confidence, and I feel that would have given them the best chance to be successful in the end, but maybe not enough even then for a Texas win, but it would have been their best chance.

Both coaches talk about the importance of playing and battling for 60 minutes. Some might say playing 59 minutes may have been better for Texas, if they would have taken at knee at the end of the 1st half, and then Gilbert would have gotten down before fumbling on the blitz the sealed the game. Kudos to Texas for playing the whole 60 minutes.
