Doesn't mean I blame the players for Tressel's failures, but their actions put him in the position to make the wrong decision.
But here is the issue I have. Tressel should have been monitoring these players more closely. Hell, I heard rumblings about Pryor a year or so ago in terms of money and clothes he was wearing. On top of that, some(people I know) fairly close to the program thought Pryor was involved with something. You have to have a pulse on your program and players. Tressel is the head coach, period. It starts with him, and ends with him. If it were only one player, I'd say ok..this is a single circumstance. But we are talking about a handful. And kids this age, don't keep their mouth shut very long about things. I'd bet money Tressel heard about some things even prior to getting the emails. And just as he did with the emails, he turned a blind eye. Thats my two cents.
As for next season..its a wash IMO. It means nothing. Its stained and will be even worse when the players return after their 5 games. The whole thing will be rehashed over and over. I'd luv to fast forward through next year to be honest. I look more forward to basketball(OSU) season right now.
