I included global warming because there are a significant number of liberals out there (some on here) who tie being against global warming as akin to being in favor of pollution (they see co2 as a pollutant, I guess).
Which is why I said environment and not global warming.
And no it shouldn't be assumed. I also didn't say that there was anyone encouraging people to pollute. It's just that I know many people who use crazy folks like this as an excuse to dismiss any person who talks about environmental responsibility, etc as a crazy person.
It'd be the same as if I used some crazy redneck burning tires as an excuse to lable anyone who doesn't agree with global warming theories (of which I'm still unsure of what I believe but I'm simply using this as an example) as some uneducated backwoods yahoo. That would be stupid which is why I don't do that.
As for the CO2 thing, it isn't a pollutant in the sense of the word that we all use. But there is a lot of evidence that shows heightened CO2 levels during warming periods. Correlation doesn't equal causation but to pretend people are insane for looking at it at all I think is a bit harsh.
