I agree. The thing is, this isn't the Reds of the past where it's acceptable to let a guy play that nots ready, because they aren't going to contend anyway. If you're going to be on the roster this year, you HAVE to be able to compete with the big boys, and Francisco showed to today he's not ready to be a big league hitter. Going 0-4 is acceptable because it's going to happen, but going 0-4 and letting the pitcher off the hook 3 times is not.Midstate01;735733 wrote:Really do think fransisco got his shot today. I somewhat agree, but rust shouldn't have any affect on your plate approach, and hacking away @ 3 first pitches w/ runners in scoring position isn't sound fundamentals. BTW, we have ZERO leftys that can play third on the 40-man roster. So we can't afford to sacrifice a lefty off the bench, and we can't afford to lose a guy who spells Rolen every 4 or 5 days, I wonder what you guys would suggest. Wait lemme guess, play Janish at 3B and call up Yonder Alonso? Please. It was one game, if the king of overreaction is telling you that you're overreacting, you've got a problem.
