It's disappointing that Stubbs left them loaded, but the Reds already have forced Myers to throw 43 pitches. He'll be lucky to make it into the sixth inning if they keep working the count.

Stubbs gets in an 0-2 hole with bases loaded and 2 outs with two great starting pitches from Myers, then gets it to 3-2. But then he miss-hits two very hittable 3-2 pitches, the first a foul out of play, and the 2nd an easy pop-up to end the threat that LeCure's walk kept going.

Bourgeois was a tough out, but LeCure kept at it and struck him out on a nice curveball.
Easier out with Sanchez, though it could have been a hit if it were not right at Francisco.
Pence works the count to 3-2, but LeCure uses the curve again to get a K.
1-2-3 innning, 2 Ks, 13 pitches.

DatDudeBP sends an 0-1 fastball opposite field for a warning track fly-out.
Votto works the count full and strikes out on a 'NASTY' curveball.
The worst haircut in baseball pops up a 3-1 pitch to second to end the inning.

Myers pitch count is at 56. He needed that.

A sub 80 mph curve, slurve, or slider(gameday calls it a slider) gets Bourgeois after 10 fastballs. For the 3rd out he gets Pence. After he got two strikes, he set-up the change-up with a fastball to make it 2-2, then threw two good 81-82 mph change-ups but Hunter was able to foul them off, but then he K'd on a 77 mph slider.

How many errors will they score for blowing two chances at an out of that ball to RF?

Scored a triple - that shows how important defense is, that if not done right, shows up as earned runs. Renteria has had trouble just getting the out on two RBI ground-outs up the middle.

Top of 4th
Carlos Lee hits a triple off the wall that should have been caught by Bruce or Stubbs. Looked like poor communication.
Wallace grounds out to Renteria driving in Lee. 2-1 'stros.
Johnson works a 3-2 count, but Ks on another curve by LeCure.
Hall draws a walk on a 3-1 count.
Quintero strikes out looking at a 1-2 fastball.

'stros take a 2-1 lead. LeCure up to 72 pitches. You have to think if his spot comes up this inning, he will be coming out.

Myers at 56 through 3. Will be important to possibly get him to 80+ after this inning. If it becomes a bullpen game, the Reds have a HUGE advantage. Lets see if Bruce and Francisco (the 2 biggest free-swingers in the lineup today) can make Myers work in the 4th.

Bruce kills a ball out of the park foul. Might have made it to the river.

Top 5th Inning
Myers grounds out to BP on a 1-1 pitch.
Bourgeois Ks looking on a 1-2 fastball.
Sanchez grounds out to 3rd.

Jordan Smith warming up in the 'pen during this inning. LeCure due to lead off, PC at 84, though. I have to think we will see a PH.

Myers is grinding, making pitches when he needs to. Is LeCure gonna lead off the 5th?

Jordan Smith comes on.
Pence hits a 3-2 grounder hard at BP that takes a tough hop, but the Gold Glover picks it clean to get the out.
Lee chases a low outside pitch and pops up to Votto.
Wallace chases two breaking balls in the dirt, takes a fastball just off the plate looks at a breaking ball in the dirt and Ks on a fastball off the plate.
1-2-3 inning.

Bottom 6th Inning

Votto strikes out on a brutal changeup.
Gomes pops out to center on his first pitch.
Bruce works the count full, then beats out an infield hit on a weak ground ball up the middle.
Renteria also hits a weak ground ball up the middle for an infield hit.
Francisco hacks away on the first pitch again and pops to the SS in shallow left...ugh.

Myers at 99 pitches and would come up fourth.

Fransisco isn't ready for the show... No plate discipline and doesn't seem to have a high baseball IQ.

Top 7th Inning

Johnson leads off with a single to left center. Nearly gets two, but Stubbs gets to it quick and makes a nice throw to limit it to one.
Hall flies out to right.
Quintero hits into a DP to make it a quick inning.

Myers doesn't make it up, so we will probably see him at least start the 7th.
