Saw this on a friend's Facebook page. He stated it wasn't police brutality, but he is also an idiot. She was subdued by one spray, no need for the cop to beat her prior to that. Especially since the guy was cooperating and on the ground. Overstepped the boundary IMO.

not sure why the dude got hit, but the chick did reach for the cop's chest as he was turning towards her and the continued to confront the cop until she got sprayed.

It was definitely excessive. I have no sympathy for people who break the law but there is no need to beat someone in that manner when it is clear she's not really going to get away.

My thoughts though on this is there is fight in the middle of the street and there are people everywhere. The police rush in and just start restoring order even with force. They are severly out numbered if the crowd decides to move in so they came in and laid the wood! And the guy who gets whooped and laid down delivers a blows to the SUV at the 2:04 mark and the girl interfers with the cop at the 1:45 mark. Take what you get!

I honestly didn't have a problem with the cop hitting her with the baton and spraying her. The cop was dealing with the dude and she kept approaching him. Learn to get the fuck back.

What I do have a problem with is the cop grabbing her by the waist band...dragging her back over...and then faceplanting here. That's where I feel that he was excessive in his actions.

The dude who hit the SUV probably has a better case of brutality. The cop just busted him on the leg with no warning, then he puts his hands up and gets hit again. He took another one after being on the ground as well. He didn't resist at all.

I've watched that video several times and am still trying to figure out what was happening at the very beginning.
Why are there at least two cars parked in the middle of the road?
Who is beating on whom?

If I knew the answers to those two questions, I could determine if this was excessive or not.

Sorry guy, cops have a protocol and standard to abide by and this cop didn't do that. He was excessive in force and I am willing to bet that a review of this by IA agrees with my opinion. I agree that they should have been arrested and dealt with, but not in that manner. We should hold law enforcement to a higher standard than common criminals, would you agree?

Totally uncalled for to continue hitting the guy. I don't mind the girl getting sprayed and subdued, but why grab her by the belt and slam her to the ground? She wasn't going anywhere and the guy was already restrained on the ground.

I agree with your second statement and would like to add that he was excessive with the guy when the guy was complying, the cop just continued to hit him.
