Mad scramble? It wasn't a loose ball, Howard had it in control. How you can think that was a foul that COULD go uncalled is beyond me. One of the analysts said it appeared that the Pitt player thought they were down and INTENTIONALLY fouled. There is absolutely no chance that foul isn't getting called.

I'm just saying that I find it strange that the refs didn't swallow their whistles at the end of the game, that's all.

The difference was that these two were clearly not mad scraps for a loose ball, they were wide open and not open for interpretation, you don't make those as a ref then they're the ones being questioned. They have to make those calls imo.

No need to make a big deal over it, we can agree to disagree. Again, MY POINT is I've seen that very same situation let go plenty of times.

I must have saw something different because it appeared there was a mad scramble for the rebound off of the missed free throw. Maybe I was watching a different game.

That's fine, but my point is I have never seen a situation like that where there are 2 obvious boneheaded fouls like that, especially in the same 2.5 second timespan. Those refs would never be allowed to ref a tournament game again if they didn't make those calls.

What's that have to do with it? Other Big East fans are disagreeing with him and he's arguing with us too.

I had work this evening and could only follow online when the game was actually on.

But then came home and watched the last five minutes on DVR.

I thought the officiating was right on in the last few minutes. Strange sequences caused by the players but the officials did a pretty good job in this case.

I'm just talking about the last few minutes though, I didn't see the entire game.

Greatest comment on the college basketball forum that I've ever seen.

It's a damn shame that I picked Old Dominion winning this game, but I had a gut feeling Pitt was going down in this game.

Pitt played a pretty good game. The Panthers hit 56% of their shots and out rebounded Butler by 10.

Mack was on fire and the Butler team hit 12/27 3's. Hard to beat a team that shoots that well behind the arc.Butler outscored Pitt by 18 points behind the arc.

Have they ever made it past the sweet 16?
