Your contribution to Japan ?????

It has already begun the onslaught of organization sending aid to Japan.

So I ask what you will be contributing (finically or material)?

I refuse to send money to any organization…. for aid.

With Haiti we see that the money has the potential to be wasted and the people never received any of the funding, support and re-building because of government corruption.

I will do what I did for Haiti: I will provide 2 pallets of bottled water, blankets and tools via our church. I purchase at Sam’s Club and our church loaded up and sent by some organization.

I will provide 2 pallets of bottle water, a pallet of rice and tools... No money.

Not a god damn thing! Thousands of americans lost their lives fighting these assholes and i'm not about to disrespect them by handing over money to them.

what do you think about helping the britians or them helping us? Thousands of Americans died fighting the Civil War, does that mean the north should only help the north and the south only help the south? The damage we did do Japan is far greater than what they did to us. Its been 65 years since WWII.

Would you feel differently if it were Spain, Mexico, England, the southern US, Germany, North Korea or Vietnam? (I'm sure I left somebody out.)

The "assholes" you're talking about are mostly dead, though. Most of the people being affected by this had nothing to do with that.

It would be like a Brit being mad at you for being American solely because his ancestor was killed by an American soldier during the Revolutionary War.

Not at all trying to be snide, as I recognize that war causes a lot of intense feeling toward people, but most of the Japanese people today were not the ones killing U. S. troops during World War II.

in situations like this i kind of have the same mentality as sleeper. i will however give if my church sends something, i just don't trust like i did before haiti.

I have a fundamental problem with ever helping a nation that launched a sneak attack on us and tortured thousands of our POW's. You can say it was 65 years ago but those people who suffered under the japanese have to be remembered and accounted for by someone.

Do you not understand the distinction between a nation and its people? Or would you prefer not to think about it because after doing so, you would realize that hating the citizens of a country for the acts of its government makes you look extremely stupid?
