For sure Genoa will be in this region. Once again they return a lot of talent and I look for them to compete for the region. I don't know much about what Huron has coming back, but I look at their roster and see a a lot of juniors and sophomores that will return off a 7-3 team that made the playoffs that year. Not sure what OG returns but I do know that their freshman were not the most talented group so they may be in for a down turn in the future??? Clearfork always seems to be in this region, they are obviously taking a big hit from seniors exiting, it will be interesting to see what kind of team they field next year. I don't know where Kenton and Oak Harbor stand enrollment wise, but they could be 2 teams welcomed back to this region this coming fall that make this region a lot tougher. At the same time though, Orrville will probably go back to region 13 if that happens. Difficult to say for now until the OHSAA decides, but those are some teams that always seem to be in this region.

I'm sure Genoa will be happy if Orrville moves back to Region 13....then we can meet at the State Semi-Finals :D

It will be a close for Oak Harbor. They were D3 by just a couple of kids, and just missed the D3 playoffs last year by the slimmest margin.

It's also quite possible that Kenton rejoins R14 which atleast for next year would be real bad news for the rest of R14. That Kenton offense is going to be incredibly scary to defend.

Also keep an eye on Port Clinton they'll have most of a 5-5 team from last year back and for the first time in 30 ish years there is some momentum in PC.

Flip a coin because that's probably how close it will be again for Oak Harbor. What happened last year to the rocket's was unfortionate but had they not blown a three score lead at home against Huron they would have been playing week 11.

Last season Orrville played 5 games against 4 of the top QB's in the state passing yards-wise...all ran the spread offense, Northwest-Nick Riley, Ashland-Marcus Fuller, Triway-Derek Carmichael twice, and Elyria Catholic-Danny Reaser. Orrville went 4-1 against those teams and has the athletes to defend it. Now I know Kenton's offense is really really good....not taking anything away from it, but Orrville would really matchup well with the Wildcats imo....that is if we are lucky enough to stay in region 14 or we would move back to 13.

Coldwater, Ursuline, and Steubenville are all close to Div. IV

Coldwater would be in region 14 or 15 while Steuby and Ursuline would be in 13 where Orrville usually is.

Orrville has definately lucked out in that move to region 14.....in 2007 Region 13 was stacked!

Mooney
Ursuline
Steubenville
Canton Central Catholic
St. Vincent St. Mary
Orrville
Chagrin Falls

We have really enjoyed being in region 14, and hopefully we can stay there for a few more years.

Last breakdown was 177 boys and over up to 251 . Coldwater had 161. The breakdown numbers will change either up or down and so will Coldwater's? Hard to say until we know where the dividing line is. Anyone know when we find out? May?

I think it is May 5knots....They are voting on that formula in April, which I think will fail...then we will see the new allignment in May.

Well, we will see if the OHSAA is as consistent as RR1. I could care less where we end up, I just want to know.

Being the easternmost team in the region along with Chippewa, it wouldnt surprise me if we were back in 13. Especially if Oak Harbor or Coldwater end up back in D-4. You could easily justify us and Chippewa back in Region 13.

Schools are going to be more conscious than ever about bus miles with state funding cuts and the price of gas. Wouldn't shock me in the least....and whatever....put us in 13. Gotta go through those teams anyway.

Don't even want to have to go to Zanesville or Athens again for games.

I did this for V-ball once. You can take the enrollment numbers posted from last Fall and try to divide them up in a spreadsheet by divisions, but it gets messed up because schools can change their enrollment figures at the last minute and new schools joining the OHSAA throw it off. Its not worth it. Volleyball was easier since it was four divisions that were fairly evenly divided and you could find the break points easier.

It should be interesting where Orrville ends up......I for one would like to stay in 14, but we have been in 13 in the past.

The last 2 years have been great playing new teams in the playoffs instead of the same ones in 13 (which was stacked with great programs) made it tough to get out of that region and it seemed like whoever was region 13 champ was in the championship.

Just stumbling around my archives and found that the last alignment was announced around May 7, 2009, so it should probably be after the first week of May.
