Change your settings to show 50 posts per page, then you only have 20 pages to read

But the Lawyer said that once he sent the email to Tressel, that Tressel replied that he would take care of it ASAP. He also said that when he meant confidential, he meant confidential from the Media/Public not the University/NCAA. And now this guy is actually receiving death threats and being labeled a "Judas" What an embarrassment. This is a freaking football team and coach we are talking about and people are going this crazy about it.
As an Ohio State fan, I am one who can think rationally and understand that Tressel F'd up big time and now has to pay the piper. A lot of these so called OSU fans are the same ones who laughed at USC or laughed at Michigan or any other school who got caught but now can't swallow the pill once our team gets busted as not being squeaky clean.
Tress got caught lying, plain and simple. yes we all make mistakes and no one is perfect but sometimes you have to take accountability instead of pleading ignorance.

centralbucksfan;708519 wrote:Lets not go overboard. I don't think there is ONE SINGLE OSU fan saying Tressel is innocent or didn't hide something. He obviously did. As far as your comment about Cicero the Lawyer..HE IS THE ONE WHO SAID HE WASN'T Judas...no one is or has called him that! Death threats? Who knows..thats what he is claiming. Check out his past...he is as shadey as they come.

There are simply some Buckeye fans who would be taking up for Tress and defending him to the death even if he walked into the press conference and said that he just murdered somebody with an ax.
Some of the posts I have been reading are just mind-numbing. Take the emotion out of it guys. Tress screwed up and he screwed up big. And on top of it, he treated us all like we were 9 years old at the press conference. Him trying to pull the wool over our eyes with that "confidentiality" BS was a complete joke. There was two weeks before the lawyer said "hey don't tell anybody this"

centralbucksfan;708530 wrote:If thats directed at me, not true. I was one on JJ who was HIGHLY critical of how Tressel handled Troy Smith and was raked over the coals for it. All I am saying in this situation, is that we don't know the half of what really went on with this situation. Tressel obviously did in fact fuck up, and fuck up big time. No question. I just don't care that some are speculating and making this worse...if thats possible. I can freely admit I could be wrong. But again, I look at those around him sticking their neck on the chopping block and I find it hard to believe they would do that if it were as bad as some are making it out to be.
pmoney25;708536 wrote:Just pointing out the fact that you said why should we believe this Cicero guy because of his shady past but we should blindly believe Tressel? That doesnt make sense to me.

centralbucksfan;708544 wrote:Just SPECULATING like everyone else! WHich btw..I don't think would be too crazy to think considering it was FEDERAL investigation. YOu don't fuck with the feds. They could give a shit about OSU or the NCAA.

jordo212000;708551 wrote:Nah it was a general statement. It seriously makes my head hurt to read some of these posts. Fact is, we don't know "what really went on" because Tress and Smith are measuring their words very carefully right now. Tress talked in circles the entire press conference and said a lot of things that just didn't add up. I still think it would have been wise for them to not issue a public statement and to just release a press release. The press conference created a lot more questions than it answered.
The smelliest part remains that somebody told Tress to hide behind the "confidentiality" as a reason for not going forward. After looking at the emails for 5 minutes it is apparent that "confidentiality" didn't come into play until 2 weeks later. Shady, shady, shady.

jordo212000;708554 wrote:Federal indictment? Again, what are you talking about? He was talking to a lawyer, not a fed. The Feds would go after Cicero, not Tress.
