What is the problem with saying an act of terrorism is an act of terrorism? Is it that it offends the terrorists? Does it mean you are too conservative? Does it mean you don't have an open mind?

It seems to have become almost taboo to even suggest that acts of violence could be terrorist acts. This is even more true when the perp shouts out the proverbial "Allah Akbar" just prior to unleashing some sort of violent action that results in the killing of multiple people.

Official spokespersons in the Obama administration dance around what is obvious and even try to change the subject by comparing the crime to something totally different. The MSM pundits seem to also be in lock-step denial.

It can't be denied that the gunman shouted, "Allah Akbar" before opening fire. This is from ABC News:

I just don't get it. Why is there such a resistance... a virtual denial, that there is a Jihad in full force against Western civilization?

Why is shouting "Allah Akbar" then killing people NOT considered a terrorist attack?

For a dem, you sure don't see anything that this "regime" does as being right or just. You complain about any action, or inaction. Maybe, this administration found it more responsible to "dance around what is obvious" versus making a statement that the evil doers will be tracked down and killed.

Some times silence is a good thing. I find it refreshing not to see thousand of people in the Mid East not burning American flags with the help of DC rhetoric that fuels the fires.

The action or inaction of the POTUS will not bring about the return of these fine airmen. Do you feel that they need vindicated by a statement? I am sure that the servicemen's families could care less about a "terrorist " label being attached to them.

It's terrorism, plain and simple, even with the lone wolf. This is just like Ft. Hood or the Saudi kid who was planning the chemical bombs. But, Germany is in an interesting debate within its country on integration of Muslims into German society and what is a "German".

A dem I am. But that doesn't necessarily mean I am a fool. I am an American FIRST and if I see something this "regime", as you described it, does that I see as being detrimental to America or makes the USA look weak, I sure as hell will complain! This is the same reaction I would have, and have had, for any administration in power, be it dem, repub or possible future tea party president.

Maybe the "dance around what is obvious" is NOT borne in our POTUS with a responsible intent but with an actual intent. Given, the 2009 BHO World Apology Tour, among other financial, military, domestic and international administrative actions, the "Dance" could also be seen as yet another one of many concerted attempts to make the USA (appear) weak.

This is true, our brave airmen will not be coming back alive. However, I do believe that as the Commander In Chief of the Armed Forces of the United States of America, the POTUS does have the responsibility to show that the lives of these fine airmen were not lost in vain. The inability of the BHO administration to connect the obvious dots that point to radical terrorism, er... man-made disasters, denigrates the prestige of the United States of America that the airmen swore, with their lives, to uphold.

I like this statement.

For some reason if you're republican or democrat, you're expected to play up to the part at all times - no matter what. You're expected to be "all in". And then get questioned when you don't. I don't know how many times, just on this forum alone, that I've been questioned about being a democrat. It's an enigma in so far as that on one hand, it's kinda funny; on the other hand, it's disheartening to be considered as someone who "doesn't act like a democrat".

What is a democrat/republican "supposed" to act like, anyway?

Well if you consider yourself a Republican or Democrat it would be reasonable to assume that you agree with a majority of that party's stances. Otherwise why would you call yourself one and not an Independent/"I have views all over the place" type of person.

Pants, towards the beginning of this forum/site there was one of those little tests to determine where you stood for political ideology. I was smack dab in the middle. It really suprised me. I am generally all for what the democratic party should stand for, within reason and if we could afford it. That doesn't mean that I'm all in. I do have conservative views concerning what is affordable and what isn't.

I'm not much interested in good thoughts fluff. Just like in real life: I do not donate to all of my favorite charities every single week because I cannot - I would love to, but my wallet says "FU".
